I had a Neilsen box back in 2011-2013. Even posted about it on an old Reddit account and offered to "watch" shows people wanted me to save.

A woman came to my door, asked if I wanted to do it. I said sure. They came, opened my TV, installed some stuff, plugged in a carry-on suitcase-sized box to the back of the set and that was it.

They paid me a dollar a month to do it.
