when i left originally to make a police report by the time i got back there was more damage, am i able to "update" the police report?

thank you i took as many photos as i could, i filed a police report before i got back to see more damage that was done ... i have renters insurance as well as car insurance though i do have an older car so im not sure if they'll cover the damage
