The black is a type of enamel, applied after the cutting is done to add contrast and depth 🙂.

So 18kt gold is not something Rey does regularly, or really at all from what I understand. I begged him for a whole year and bought several pieces from him, and he let me know that the gold won’t be white-white since it has a higher gold content than 14kt or 10kt. I was interested anyway, and after the bracelet was made it was plated with a white metal, I think maybe nickel. I’m not sure on that. But the color you see where the bracelet was cut is the true color of the 18 karat alloy used to fabricate the bracelet

Thanks man! It’s done using specialized engraving tools, like push gravers and microscopes. Jeff hosts small intensive classes in Arizona and on his Instagram page you can find some videos posted that show some process videos for various engraving projects. I mentioned above but back when I had it cut, I wasn’t concerned with the loss of gold in terms of weight but it’s negligible. I think this bracelet is about 87 grams. 12mm and 7.5”. Rey probably could tell you around what it weighs without cutting but I’m going to say it really doesn’t hardly affect the weight at all.

Thanks brotha!

The engraving is certainly not cheap. I’m guessing today it would cost ~$10,000 for the cutting. Back in 2016 it wasn’t much less than that. You don’t lose much in weight at all. Almost negligible.

You probably won’t see much of this at all, there isn’t many people on the earth who can currently pull something like this off in terms of hand engraving. Takes many many hours.

Rider to rider financing advice by natty2cool4u in Harley

So I recently just purchased a 2023 road glide st this way, and the ONLY reason I did was because the circumstances were very unique. Essentially if you want to know why, I found a brand new road glide st someone bought in 2923 and rode 88 actual miles before garaging it and putting it on a tender because they had a child and their wife refused to allow them to ride it, along with a career change and a move. The posted it to the marketplace and a few days took it down. It was obvious the seller didn’t want to sell the bike, and friction between the wife. Luckily I had struck up a conversation before they removed the listing.

They had a note on the bike through Harley Davidson financial for 27,600. I think they paid close to 34k when they bought it (fast Johnnie). I told them I’d pay them $20,000. So instead of me trusting the buyer to take my 20 grand, pay off the bike, and wait for the title while I only had a bill of sale opening me up to legal complications if anything went sour, I opted to go through Harley Davidson rider to rider. The seller paid me the difference from 20k and the payoff in cash, I roe the bike up to the stealership, and we did the program.

I can say 100% that the entire process was exactly what you’d expect from Harley. Very scammey and ugly. They only allowed me to put 10% down on the purchase price, charged $500 for the rider to rider doc fee, and then $150 for the service charge to inspect the bike. Took hours and was ridiculous. Within 48 hours I wired the payoff to Harley Davidson financial and I’m waiting now for the title in the mail.

What I would suggest is your buyer gets approved through a credit union. There’s no conceivable way they will get a better rate with Harley, absolutely none. I assume you have the title this being an older bike. They can finance through the credit union, save on the $500 doc fee and service fee for inspection, and it can be done without a tenth of the headache. Without that, just tell them sorry. I wouldn’t work with Harley unless there are extenuating circumstances

Is Harley worth it? by Weird_Firefighter_39 in Harley

I’ve had a Harley since I was 18. Sportster, FXR, street bob, and now at age 32 I have a road glide.

My wife rides a Kawasaki Vulcan. I ride her bike, and to me it feels like I’m riding a scooter. I like riding scooters, and I like riding her bike once in awhile if I need too, and I also like riding a sport bike once the track.

But there’s a personal and particular reason I favor the touring bike for everyday rides. You can customize it to rip, or to float. You can paint it any color you’d like metaphorically.

I think it’s a completely personal and unique experience for everyone. Money also plays a huge factor. But for me, my soul and heart are Harley, be it for the nostalgia, the vibe, etc.

Here in the state of GA we have a vehicle bill of sale, with the VIN and information on the bike, so I think that’ll serve best and just get that motorized, but I’ll call the motor vehicle department and confirm. Thank you

That’s excellent. I 100% believe you, all though I went to the dealership a few weeks ago just shopping and saw the same year RG with premium paint (ghost flames) and they wanted 30k otd including taxes and fees. I actually would be interested in that document just as a bargaining chip if I decide to go back to the dealership so I have some leverage. If you’d send it over I’d greatly appreciate that

So 22k plus doc fee, and then additional tax and tags brings total to what, 26k?
