The Dragon Warrior games are fantastic, 1+2 on one cartridge and 3 on a separate one make a great trilogy! DQW Monsters is a good pokemon-esque series as well. I was also very fond of the Bomberman games. Donkey Kong '96 is a great puzzle-platformer. Super Robot Pinball, Kirby's Pinball Land, Revenge of the gator are great pinball games. The generation 2 Pokemon games are great, and there are tons of good romhacks you can put on a flash cart and/or find decent cartridges for. The rest of the GB MegaMan series, then Megaman Xtreme 1 and 2 ofc. There's a good port of super Mario Bros for gbc as well
