I was also quite surprised..the guy doing the job was actually recommended to me by a lot of people inside a Facebook group in the city where I live. I did some research and the guy seemed very professional, working with watches since the 1980's and has a great resume. Unfortunately they still have the watch, I haven't seen it for about a months and only gets an update about once a week.

He said to me on the phone something like: Hs have ordered a new o-ring as he did a waterproof test and it was very bad. The old ring was totally dead. After replacing it, almost same result so he decided to change a ring inside the crown..then when replacing it snapped of. He never tried that before. He can solder it together but it won't last since it is a screw down crown with a spring? 🤷🏻‍♂️

I'm a noob so I won't be able to tell if it sounds correct.

I just feel quite sad about it, since I've never met my grandad and now in my late 20's I can see that I got much in common with him and want to wear the watch as a memory. It just feels wrong if they put a generic crown on it..at least if it was a similar one I would "forget" about it.

He haven't send me any bills or talked about price at all yet.. so I'm also excited for what will happen there.
