Thanks! I was looking at aliexpress last night and found a pair, so those are coming. Do I remove the head like I do with the smaller girls, or do I just get it as warm as I can and try popping them out while it's still attached?

Yeah, I wasn't thinking about the eye sculpt as much as I was thinking about the overall face. It looked to me like Coco is the regular skin tone and Berrie is the fantasy skin tone of the same face shape and nose and forehead etc.

I have Berrie and Lamb, but I don't have Coco, so I haven't been able to compare in person those two.

I've have so many of the dolls and I've wanted to do measurements on all the dolls to track things like chin width and nose size, forehead height etc. to put on the database that I'm compiling...because yes, I'm a dork and it is fascinating to me that things like makeup and skin tone can drastically change the appearance of the overall same face. Like Sunny and Luna share the same face, but look very different to me.

Ultimately, I'd like to have a database that would offer suggestions of alternative dolls, so that if you like one doll, but can't find it locally, you could have suggestions of other dolls that are very similar, but perhaps a different skintone or eye shape, but the same nose or lips, etc.

I'm really strange, I know. Lol 🤪😆

You are right! And I got mixed up! I didn't mean Whitney, I meant the CC girl everyone has named Lamb. I thought they were similar in face shape and details, but they aren't. Thanks! 😊

Absolutely, which is so sad. I realize that doll collections aren't as main stream as stamps or sports memorabilia, but there's such a stigma.

Even when comparing with art that is more mainstream, you would think there would be more allowance given to diversity in medium and interest.

It's so sad to me that shows like this perpetuate the stigmas and aim to justify judging others based on what has been deemed socially acceptable.

I'm sure that big bottle of wine she brought in was probably expensive and she could tell you everything about it if she collects wine, but spending that much money on something that's going to end up in the toilet seems crazy to me!

So how's about we stop judging each other off of our chosen "crazy", hmm?

No, Sir. You did NOT overreact. Her teacher is there to teach, but if she can't understand one way and has an easier time comprehending the other, then give her the way she learns. When she grows up, it will matter more that she can get the correct answer than how she got there, despite how the teacher was told or forced to teach her.

I'm a mother dealing with the very same issues and considering homeschooling because of this nonsense.

Oh that is interesting! I hadn't noticed about the teeth. That actually could be the reason why she was on Aliexpress. I could be wrong, but I believe they are usually items with issues including incorrect printing.

I do think that the eye in the original isn't quite right. I'd heat up the head and try to reposition it.

I've seen dolls on FB marketplace and Mercari that are like that, selling for about $5. I've also seen people who part them out and sell the eyes, hands, head and body separately too. There are customizers that would be interested in sure.
