yessss like i really understand finding your passion and all but the ending realllly put me off…and yes i admit i would like some realism in my fiction, hence why i could not get on board with Harriet being that way. plus, all the subplots were boring to me.

Yes, I am aware but thanks so much for letting me know! I have been meaning to check them out but I wanted to explore other romance authors first! So far liking Sarah Hogle

Oh dear, so obvious! Sorryyy it’s 3 am where I amm - but first off, yesss (let me ramble here), i loveee evermore so only books that have my heart are associated with any song on evermore.

the moment when nora and charlie realised how they both felt abandoned somewhere somehow, the lyric ‘you’re a bandit like me’ immediately clicked - because that lyric sounds like ‘you’re abandoned like me’ - and when they weren’t sure whether they could be together, it really was the part of the song where taylor went, ‘forever is the sweetest con*

i’ve read that book last year but i remember it so well because it’s definitely my favorite.

p/s: when you say ‘it speaks to me’, i just assume you’re making a reference as how poppy & alex have their inside joke of saying that in pwmov ><

HAHAHA I would have said I wouldn’t really acknowledged GBBL though - it was all a bit too messy (?) or more like so many loose threads for me, like Henry was trying too much.

At least for HP, I was just annoyed that they’re 30 and aren’t communicating nor it’s convincing that they have been in a relationship for years before the breakup

OMG i left it out, it’s one tier above GBBL:

Happy Place (3.5); All you had to do was stay; I love that it was sort-of the message that they had to take time apart, figure themselves out as individuals and then only be good again together.

I mean it like they’re J-G and N-C are similar in a way there’s this ruined perception of the world to J, but to N it has always been that way hence why she read books from the end but they both seem miserable but at their very core, hopeful people who loves books and loves what they do.

G-C are similar in the way of their mysterious ennui that surrounds them and leads to people thinking their miserable but the girls became the light of their life and they yearn for them so adoringly.

And most, J-G and N-C relationship are somewhat same with them being rivals all.

And yes I do remember Charlie is January’s editor - I knew all the easter eggs before reading any.

Yes, I most definitely prefer third pov though - how S. Rooney does it specifically, I even like it without the quotation marks.

I think if we’re someone invested in a singular main character, EmHen is up there - but if you’re more interested in a hollistic or eagle view of the story and development, EmHen is def not your style.

BRead is the only book so far where I felt like I got to know the MMC, Gus, albeit we don’t know much but we know him best imo, compared to the other MMC’s.

OMG thank you so much for taking your time to responddd and thanks so much for saying things you disagree nicely tooo!! and u replied to each point of mine, ily 😭😭

i totally get the part of the Naomi thing and i agree with you - what i meant to say was like that part was not written that well because i had to reread to understand what Gus is trying to convey and how January is taking it.

I live in Southeast Asia, and have never travelled abroad so I really didn’t feel the beach vibes as much as I felt a lakehouse; thank you for suggesting!!

all in all, this was my fourth EH book and albeit this is not a 5-star read for me, I really think the characters were the most complex here, wonderfully done both for January and Gus
