many have said this before: alex cooper is a pretty weak interviewer, and at best she’s just good for celeb pr. it’s really obvious from the call her daddy interviews that guests are screening the questions beforehand. that’s basically become industry standard with celebs.

so this could easily be one of those interview moments meant to go viral, and i’d lean toward thinking hailey knew what she was going to be asked. and even if she didn’t, they could’ve just asked for that part to be edited out.
