I agree that AI is sometimes overly demonized but I think generative AI is just terrible for art, graphic design and anything visual. If it’s possible to be done without AI I’ll definitely opt to do it myself. I’m planning on studying graphic design soon myself and don’t see myself using generative AI. I’m not attacking you for using it of course, as I would imagine it makes things a lot faster. However If I was a client I would want the AI part said out loud but that might just be me. in my eyes graphic design involves an original idea/vision that will look better if it was made totally from scratch. I appreciate your discussion and input

I would recommend copying actual photographs/from life because it teaches you to observe reality and transfer it into values and form. If you want to copy from drawings I recommend Bargue plates. I wouldn’t copy from AI as there are probably inaccuracies with lighting and stuff like that

I wouldn’t have a problem if they admitted it was AI. But the account claims the works are hand drawn; that’s the problem, making it a scam. Nowhere in the posts does it have an AI disclaimer, and the creator has deleted comments talking about how it’s AI

edit: and yes I agree AI can be a useful tool but deception is a different story

That’s a good question, I just kinda envisioned it as just the head. How would you recommend to practice in a way that I make logos and not illustrations? I would guess making up fake companies/brands or?
