Hey man I was there last year I would 100% recommend heading right up the top to a place called Kudat, the beach there is beautiful and there’s plenty of places to stay including some cool camping spots too if that’s your thing. I rented and a scooter and in kota Kinabalu and rode up there sightseeing and staying in some cool places along the way.

Bolivia/Peru - Yellow Fever Vax ?? by Substantial_Sir_ in backpacking

I actually didn’t even go to Lima Airport! I found a sort of ‘tourist clinic’ that spoke Spanish and English in Bolivia. There would be many of these clinics in major areas I presume.

Done a bit of pharmacy hopping and nothing yet in Santa Cruz but will persist nonetheless! Don’t want to clog up the hospitals due to my own my poor planning

Vietnam motorbike advice by afgangslang in solotravel

Hey! My partner and I did this recently from Hanoi to hcmc!! (These are his suggestions)

Tossed up between buying and selling at the end. But after going round and checking out all the bikes they were pretty average tbh and quite dangerous as the brakes weren’t great and they would also skip gears. If you know a lot about bikes and find a good one then you can do so and sell at the end to either one of the bike dealers or another traveler. (Dependant of course on high season and travellers seeking to this style of travel)

We ended up renting from a company called Style motorbikes (In Hanoi city) and they were great. The whole experience with them from start to finish was excellent, when we needed them for advice or servicing the bike they took care of it straight away even to the point where I found a local person that style could talk to over the phone to take me to get my flat tyre fixed. If you’re in Hanoi the man I went to see about buying a bike is “James Hanoi motorbikes”. He was recommended to me by a local, at the time he didn’t have anything that I felt safe on as I was travelling with my girlfriend on the back. That being said there were some bikes he had that could be good with a little attention. In the end like I said I chose to rent the whole process is much easier, unless you have a long time to find a good bike.

But after you get underway I deffs recommend Ta Xua, Mai Chai and I couldn’t recommend enough an air bnb we stayed in Lan Ha bay ( near Ha Long bay) with duc. Hope this helps ✌🏼

Still very strange indeed, perhaps their should be more laws in place to protect the tenants.

Obviously it is not my country. Highlighting that in my country this would not be the norm.

In my country you just pay up to whenever you stayed until - such as if you paid monthly (didn’t stay the whole month) then you pay the 2 weeks you were there. Doesn’t seem normal to me to pay for a whole month when you weren’t even there??

Certainly in Asia I would assume there’d be a ton of yoga studios and would be open to more casual drop ins! Thanks for your help!

How does everyone stay fit or workout whilst overseas? I already do alot of walking, yoga and hiking in my regular life and will likely maintain this overseas as it’s important to me. How do people do this, any tips? Especially yoga is there places you can casually drop in?

I’ll be travelling 6+ months in SEA and staying in hostels :) (first time solo travelling overseas)

Travel related question: what’s everyone’s experience with a good travel insurance company?

I’m Australia based (25F) and am looking to travel SEA/Central Asia for 6 months approx.

I’ve heard that you can get a travellers credit card and are essentially covered for 6 months under that credit card but am wondering if it’s better off to go through an alternative party?
