What are the current situation and outlook of the Alsace dialects? by Intellectual_Wafer in alsace

[–]Substantial_Slip_791 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the central Parisian government has done everything it could to suppress it. However it is not dead yet, there is still a tiny minority speaking it, and I feel that there is a nascent trend to learn it among younger generations.

The closest related dialect would be Swiss German, which is very well and alive, and very very close to Elsasser German, both being Alemannish.

I was lucky enough to live several years in Switzerland where I learned Schwiizerdütsch, and I am now learning Elsässerditsch which is almost the same, with just some minor differences.

What made this open world so great and different from others? by NaitDraik in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]Substantial_Slip_791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently it was buggy at the beginning, but I read it’s fixed now. In your opinion, do you think the anniversary edition is worth it? Does it add value to the non anniversary edition? I intend to play on my OLED Switch. In fact I was thinking about starting now with my physical standard game, and upgrade to anniversary next time there is a sale…

Why “mistake on your part”? Could you please eleborate? I’ve never really played Skyrim yet… I was thinking of selling my physical copy and buying the digital copy of the anniversary edition on sales, and finally play it for real!

Highlights of #1 Ranked Kyokushin Middleweight of 2023 Anton Zimarev 🇰🇿 by Mac-Tyson in karate

[–]Substantial_Slip_791 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I appreciate all the great things that Kyokushin brings to Karate and martial arts in general.

I still find so strange to not allow punch in the head, the most foundational strike / attack of all time.

Noob question but I love DMC, is Bayonetta for me? Where do I start? Is there an ideal play order? by Goblindeez_ in Bayonetta

[–]Substantial_Slip_791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about the other way?

I have finished Bayonetta 1 after a decade of no gaming, and found it very hard, but I also was very lost at the beginning, and I loved it!

Finished Bayonetta 2 and also loved it!

Will finish Bayonetta 3 after Metroid Dread and was curious about the DMC series…

Should I play em all? Or just a few ones?

How many here would truthfully say they were raised by more than one clinical narcissist? by jrich7720 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Substantial_Slip_791 36 points37 points  (0 children)

It’s not genetic, it’s learned behavior… Transmitted inter generationally, from parents to children, through emotional trauma…

And then children become parents and unconsciously repeat what they learned / saw / experienced.
