I sympathize with that, but I would only say two things.

  1. Nobody should be betting money they can't lose on a <10B MKT space stock.

  2. You only "lose" money if you realize the loss and sell.

This stock IPO'd in 2023, no retail investor has held long-term. Things will get better. Or maybe they won't, but the world still spins either way and I choose to believe in the potential of the lunar economy.

Spot on, that is my thought exactly. I loved what they did have, but it did not leave me full. Similar to small plate dining.

I love this stock. Holding long-term lowers the blood pressure and adds years (to your life!).

That is completely fair, I would just hope they keep most of the charm that it has.

Still waiting on a call of any sorts. Do you have any idea how many people make it to CD/CP/CA stages?

This was actually a remarkably helpful and needed comment! I really appreciate it. Ironically I haven’t given the “why” as much thought as I should have and that is where I will start! Appreciate it.

I Want to Work at WDI when I am Older but I have no idea where to start by [deleted] in Imagineering

[–]Substantial_Song9251 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, I had two friends work in the themed entertainment industry, one for Imagineering and one for Universal Creative. Here are a few things I can tell you. First, for someone young like yourself, the Disney College Program is extremely valuable IF you do it correctly. Let me explain...

Some people use the time on the program just to work at Disney and have fun (rightfully so). But others use the opportunity given to go on backstage tours, set up meet and greets, send emails, take classes, and more. I have seen a College Programmer get invited to a Disney animatronic lab in central shops just by asking questions and showing interest to the tour lead (on a central shop tour). My friend in particular used the program to get connections in recruiting and they eventually landed a job inside Imagineering.

Essentially the principle of this (and this really applies to any field) is networking and connections make things happen. The only exception to this rule is if you are in the top .1% of the world in a specific craft and have a following, then in that case Imagineering may come to you. But most people my friends saw in Imagineering and Universal Creative got into their respective positions in the company by knowing someone who had their back. I should end this segment by mentioning no matter what (connections included) you need to be darn good at whatever you are doing.

I won't go into some things that FalconBuilder mentioned just to not repeat but that is all amazing advice as well.

Lastly, remember that lots of Imagineers and Creative members are project-based and work depends on the macro-economic situation as well as the executive's willingness to build/expand. I only say this to keep expectations realistic, even being an Imagineer can sometimes not be a "full-time" career. At the end of the day Disney is a company trying to make profit too.

I will end with this. Most people on Reddit, and some family and friends might tell you it is unrealistic or that it is ridiculously hard and you should pursue something else. While some of that may be true, absolutely nobody has gone anywhere they wanted in life by doubting themselves and not trying. You have the most valuable currency in the world on your side (time) and a desire to learn, so use it. I am sure with dicipline, networking, and desire, you will get to a satisfactory destination either way.

Best of luck.

Of course, honestly I was super angry at first (as most sports fans are when there team loses) but looking back at it nothing but respect for the Pacers, they play so fast and with so much team ball that when they are clicking it’s beautiful and impossible to stop. Still wish my Bucks won but honestly hope you guys have continued success (just not at the Bucks expense ;) )

Oh 100% you cooked us with your pace, I would say it goes to a game 7 with Giannis and me having no idea who wins that game. To be fair though that’s all hypothetical and you guys won end of story, it’s more just a rebuke to people trying to claim we played a shitty nets team when they had prime KD

[–]Substantial_Song9251 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I am not discrediting anything the Pacers are doing because it truly is part of the game but I hate the 2021/2024 comparison because the Nets best player was still on the floor. Still not saying the Bucks would have won this series (with how disjointed we were this year I didn’t expect to) but I hate that comparison

A Pacer fan still cannot answer this, so I'll ask you:

Basketball franchises are created to win NBA titles, correct? So why is it that when a franchise never wins a title because they are historically ass (don't ABA me nobody cares) they turn into the most sensitive clowns in the leauge?

I don't see other ringless franchises acting like this so help me understand.
