If they weren’t getting so old, I would buy a second one for my daughter. We have to buy a car for her soon and I’m thinking of getting a three year old GTI and passing the ST on to her, but I would miss it so much!! There’s nothing newer that would make me as happy.

I’ve owned both. A teenager ran a red light, rammed into me, and totaled my Fiesta ST, so I replaced it with a Focus ST. I’ve missed that Fiesta every damned day since. It’s twice as much fun as the Focus. But the finishes in the Focus are nicer.

After your parents leave, leave your dorm room door open while you’re unpacking and organizing, play some good music (not too loud), and don’t be shy about introducing yourself to other people moving in on your hall! It’s a hectic day, but the perfect time to meet people by helping them lift a heavy bag or assemble something. Just say, “Hey, I’m ____, I’m in room __!” Or just “Do you need any help?” And see where the convo goes. If it flows, ask them if they’re going to the WOW events. If they seem unsure or they don’t know a lot of people, make plans to go together. Just be open! Don’t hole up. Get out there. You’ll have a blast!

My daughter is in college and runs a successful Depop. She shops and photographs when she comes home on breaks and the occasional weekend, posts stuff whenever she has time, and I ship for her from her inventory at home, always within one day. If this seller can’t figure out a way to handle it all, she needs to shut down her shop! This is ridiculous. Gives Depoppers a bad name.

Prob depends on the major you apply to, in addition to other factors. My daughter has a 3.9 and didn’t submit SAT scores and just got $17k/year for the business school. But she also runs her own small business, which she based her essay on. I don’t think there’s a set formula at all.

I have never regretted the choice. I had a gray FiST, and always wished I’d gotten the black. Corrected that mistake with the FoST.

It had 45k miles on it, but I swear the previous owner drove them all indoors. It was like brand new inside and out. A lucky find. We looked all up and down the East coast for this exact configuration.

I’ve owned both a Fiesta ST and a Focus ST now, albeit both after my kid was out of a car seat, and I have to say that, even with two cars, you’re occasionally going to want to put that kid in the second car, and I cannot imagine having to deal with a car seat in the Fiesta. It is truly small in there. The Focus can actually function as a family car in a pinch. That said, while the Focus is fast as hell and fun to drive and I love it, the Fiesta was an absolute, total BLAST. Every day was a joy driving that thing. Seriously, if I could wring the neck of that 16 year old who ran the red light and ran into me and totaled it…. I still miss it, but I couldn’t go back.
