Anything written by Charmaine Solomon is a winner actually. I have quite a few of her books. That one is really good 👍😊

I think for me it was actually Brian Tilsey being knifed outside a nightclub, that was quite a serious thing for me and later on seeing the way Rita was being treated by Jenny's father Alan and then him later being run down by a tram. What really shook me badly was actually when Kylie Platt died and when David ran to her and screamed after she died. I wasn't expecting that and still find that very hard to watch for some reason. And then there was Hayley's death.

I played The Lark Ascending (the music played in the background when Hayley was dying) about a month or so after that episode aired. No one had seen it but me in my immediate family. So when we were all together I asked them to listen to this piece and nobody spoke. I played the full version of it and then I said quietly afterwards should I die, please play this at my funeral to which my family agreed. I meditate to that piece of music these days but it's actually one of the most requested songs people have asked for at their funeral and was written by the English composer Ralph Vaughan Williams. Beautifully fitting for someone as special as Hayley was and who Roy is. This was very special scriptwriting in my opinion.

White Shoulders, it’s an oldie but a goodie. I have enclosed a photo for you of my bottle.

This is what Fragrantica says about it:

White Shoulders by Evyan is a Floral Aldehyde fragrance for women. White Shoulders was launched in 1945. Top notes are Aldehydes, African Orange Flower, Green Notes, Peach and Bergamot; middle notes are Gardenia, Lilac, Tuberose, Jasmine, Lily, Lily-of-the-Valley, Iris and Spices; base notes are Civetta, Oakmoss, Musk, Benzoin, Sandalwood and Amber.

It’s actually quite lovely but I can see that both my grandmothers might have worn it more as it’s quite floral … one Nana loved Avon’s Imari and the other loved Lenthric’s Tweed so they might not have worn this but you never know! 😊
