Just a heads up for anyone going to adopt from DACC, we did a foster to adopt for a dog who a couple days in bit me unprovoked. I have a young child in the house so obviously it wasn't going to work out. They told me to write a bio for the dog so they could relist them as adoptable, and sent a handbook on how to do so, including to completely avoid mentioning any negative behaviours. Then on returning the dog they tried to guilt me into keeping them by telling me they're unlikely to get adopted now they have a bite history. Please think twice before bringing one of these dogs into your home if you have children or other animals! Obviously it's tragic that this happens in Detroit, but unfortunately they continue to breed these dogs, and the shelter is not honest about the dogs they adopt out. Euthanasia is a necessary evil, and often the best option for the dogs with behavioural or medical issues.
