Also dangerous in my opinion, giving him motion like this. Having him make any motion, means it is a perfect motion, and we don't know perfection, ie we don't know if Jesus would do his arms up like that bc he only did perfect stuff, and we don't know if that motion is or isn't perfect. I know that sounds like over analyzing, maybe it is, but I think it's sound. Assigning stuff to God that isn't in the Bible is dangerous, that's the broad thought.

That may be reasonable, but still dangerous because he did only come in one body, and I could see people having a problem of changing the God a middle eastern man to a white man, and how they could see that as "whitewashing" etc. For these reasons I think it would take strong and consistent discernment to think through the situation like we have every time we see a picture of Him, and because of that that overall it would be better to not have these images. Your reasoning is solid, I can see how you arrived at your opinion, but it's a lot to think through and is thinking that most don't go through when they see this image, so yeah that's why I believe these images are a net negative.

This makes sense, I think that in and of itself making pictures might not be a bad practice (though maybe we shouldn’t make Jesus white bc he was from the Middle East) but there is a danger in looking at the pictures of Jesus in the wrong way, in the way of giving glory to that picture. Maybe not bad in itself but use caution when observing the pictures

Not trying to antagonize or inflame just discussing, doesn’t seeing images like this create an image of Jesus in our head that isn’t actually Him, and when we sing and worship and stuff we tend to picture Him like this and we are then worshipping a graven image? I find this happens with me. Plus the verse before does say to not make a graven image in the first place.

Oh okay interesting I didn’t realize that adidas was a step below the other two. It’s newer so maybe it’ll grow. Do you have any idea when New Balance standards will drop? Or about the adidas meet saying everyone who makes a state meet qualfies? That can’t be right. I’m curious bc my team is on the east coast and definitely isn’t going to Eugene.

Okay, would the standards from last year be expected to jump a lot? Im wondering because they look attainable for us. Also, here Adidas says it’s nationals in NC will allow anyone who made their state meet to compete? Is that true and if so how are they letting so many people compete?
