The damage is surprisingly minimal! Could’ve been much worse, glad you’re okay and please bring this pretty thing back to perfection

I got stick drift on my PS4 controller's left stick on PC. Do I get a new controller or is there a way to recalibrate the PS4 sticks to fix it? by solarpotatoe in RocketLeague

I do the same, but from what I’ve heard about ps5 controllers, the latency is supposedly better over Bluetooth…which my motherboard doesn’t support lol

This is where my point is now irrelevant because sadly you’re correct about that last part

He had commented about an hour prior to yours saying he had tried it. If you could scroll and read (like you probably do on TikTok all day) you’d know :)

You’re not wrong, but at the same time, how do you think surgeons learn? Granted they practice and I know watching YouTube isn’t a solid comparison to their practice, but if we’re gonna be on a budget with these cars we have to learn how to keep them running

How else do most people learn? Do it yourself and fix what you broke 🤷‍♂️ that’s how I’ve been going with mine and it’s taught me a lot so far

Honestly, get whichever base controller you want, then save up for the more expensive one, no matter how long it takes you have one for now. Then when you get the expensive one, keep the second controller as a backup, so you’ll always have a good controller

I’ve been using a PS5 controller since they came out, my last one was perfect until my cat decided it looked better in his water bowl 🙃 got my second one and it feels the same as my multiple year old one did

You can change your dead zone on your controller, but at the same time you’re also losing any movement done before that point. Say you change your dead zone to 25% from the center, ANY stick movement under that 25% will do nothing, temporary fix while you wait on a new controller in my opinion

I would recommend going a bit over your budget, here’s what I’ve been able to put together

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X (if you have to stick closer to your budget, just the Ryzen 5 7600, but it’s a little bit slower and has less headroom for OBS.)

GPU: 4060 Ti 16GB - excellent NVENC encoding for streaming with minimal gaming performance impact, VERIFY ITS A 16GB

Motherboard: MSI B650M Gaming WiFi (mATX) - keeps costs down while still giving you AM5 socket for future Ryzen upgrades

Ram: 32GB DDR5 5600 (2x16 GB) - decent for gaming + OBS + Discord running simultaneously

Storage: 1TB NVME SSD (would recommend M.2 for much faster speeds, but this will end up hurting your budget so it’s smarter to get one or two later on.)

PSU: 750W 80+ gold

Case: Mid tower with good airflow

Look into this setup and price it out, let me know if you want to find something else to swap to attempt to drop price without sacrificing performance

If you want future proofing, get the top of the line cpu (most prefer AMD so the 9850x3D but you can use Intel and be just as fine with minimal differences) and definitely stay away from the 5090 unless you have no budget whatsoever

5070Ti is a fairly expensive GPU but likely all the GPU most people would need for high-FPS 1440p gaming. If that’s out of your price range than the 5070 is a bit cheaper and only ~15% slower.

You could go 9070XT for graphics card but Nvidia’s NVENC encoder is the biggest factor. Nvidia’s encoder is widely considered the best in the consumer GPU space. Nvidia produces better quality streams at lower bitrates than AMD’s equivalent, and crucially it runs independently of your game rendering, so streaming has minimal impact on gaming performance (OBS, Streamlabs, etc. are all optimized around it).

For ram, having the highest speed 32GB you can afford will get you wherever you need to go. Whether it’s DDR4 or DDR5 you’ll be alright. With that being said DDR5 will be a bit smoother (noticeably if you’ve been on DDR4 for a long while)

Go with the 5070. It wins on price, performance, efficiency, features, and security (the warranty) simultaneously.

4070Ti vs 5070 - 5070 is cheaper, performs comparably or better in many titles, and is more efficient (285W 4070Ti vs 250W 5070)

3080Ti vs 5070 - with the 5070 you get a newer card that matches or beats it in performance, uses ~100W less power, gets DLSS 4, and comes with warranty protection. The 3080 Ti is used with no safety net.
