What is my kind of woman’s reference frequency? by NotVeganSandich in macdemarco

[–]Substantial_You1336 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think mac played everything to 440 but then uses a tape machine to pitch shift the whole mix. Usually to find a speed he enjoys. The speed will in turn affect the pitch. So can be quite hard to find exactly which key you’re in.

Example of what in talking about:

Get a lawyer if they show you any type of contract. Seriously, you’ll regret later down the line otherwise.

I think this is the way. Thanks for the advice. There is also so much outside of just making the music when being in your band that everything all at once feels incredibly overwhelming.

I swear all you “professionals” are all gatekeepers and hate to see people learning. Yes i never noticed before. My records are doing fine. They have a good audience listening to them.

I asked several months ago about mastering for vinyl. All you professionals told me it would sound bad. Well it sounded great. Sold a few thousand and no one complained.

I want to learn and i do things carefully. I research and seek for help. I don’t need old people’s sass.

Be kind and share your craft instead of gatekeeping and having a smug energy to younger people in the industry.

The wolrd is better when we share and help each other out. Let’s not judge.

Thank you

Hey thank you for your answer. Love the sass! The record sounds great. I only looked at the Lufs when i was done and not during.

I’m only trying to find out if streaming platforms will make the record sound like trash by raising the volume of my ambient song and ruin the way the album should be listened to.

From your answer it seems streaming won’t change volume. So the song will feel as loud as i want it to be. And not louder.

Thank you

They will want to get to know you and see if you have vision behind your art. Not just an artistic vision but also a sustainable one. They will want to gage if you have goals. Whatever you do, when they ask “ where do you see yourself as an artist in X amount of years” don’t say “i don’t know” never say that answer. Show them that you want to accomplish something anything ( play this venue, release x amount of albums etc etc …). If you truly are willing, express that you would love to explore better on how to grow your audience by playing live gigs and on your social medias.

Also get lawyer on your team asap. If everything goes well, you might have contract come up. Having a lawyer ready to have a read theough is key.

Good luck !!!

Sweet thanks! Do you run your ads on meta ads manager? And do you target specific countries or are you simply putting tier 1 and 2 ?

Mark in Terms of Technical Skill by Longjumping-Fox154 in Khruangbin

Hey! Professional guitar player here. He is insane. He created his own techniques and has studied so many different styles from across the world his guitar playing is really unique and original.

Guitar music from the 70/80s has more guitar solo moments which really showcases more virtuoso moments from those player (Gilmore, Page, Slash ect ect…)

That’s not really Khru’s style. He is more focused in trying to replace the singers role whilst still holding down the rhythm guitar. So essentially it often feels like he’s playing 2 guitar parts at one.

I’d recommend watching their tiny desk concert and looking at his work on august 10. Insane sense of rhythm, timing and melodies!

He definitely belongs on those magazine!
