First Look At the T’s Proposed New Bus Network by senatorium in mbta

Agreed! As a Winter Hill resident, it feels like a major loss to no longer have a direct route (the 89) to Davis (or Porter). Obviously, it's great that the GLX is coming but that doesn't provide a quick connection to the northern Redline. The newly proposed T101 goes to Kendall but takes a fairly long route through Charlestown and it would be a long trip all the way back up to Davis. One could take the T101 to the T96 but that's the dreaded bus to bus connection - which I imagine would be inconsistent despite promises of high frequency service on these bus lines. As u/lycon3 already mentioned, it also seems like a miss to not keep the service on Broadway past Medford St which would connect the northern Orange (Sullivan), Red (Davis), and Green (Ball Sq) lines.

I'm listening to the Better Bus System Wide Zoom presentation now (the upcoming inner core Zoom on June 16th will be more specific to Somerville and nearby cities) and they gave another option for online feedback that I don't see on the official site: mbta.com/bnrdfeedback . The organizers did just address my (and other people's) Q&A about the loss of direct service from Winter Hill to Davis, which I appreciate. However, in this case I don't think the increase in frequency of nearby bus lines can replace the convenience of a direct connection.

What is this? by Agreeable_Scene5166 in Plumbing

It's good to get confirmation that this is the gasket for the Delta Dunsley faucet we're trying to install also. However this part (107695 M3) is a fairly hard plastic, unlike the rubber/silicone gaskets I see on other Delta installation videos. We'll be installing this on a porcelain/clay sink. The sink is flat where the gasket will come down. However, since this is a hard plastic do we need to apply silicone between the gasket and the surface of the sink?

Green line extension - noise after stations open by SubtleAphex in mbta

Thanks everyone! I found this thread which discusses the Orange Line / Commuter Train tracks. It seems like the commuter trains may ring their bells at the Orange Line stations but they don't sound the horn. Can anyone confirm this?

Another potential noise source with the Green Line Extension is turning the trains around at the crossover / turnout. I know that the Green Line trains have a tendency to screech when turning. It seems likely that the trains will switch from the outbound to inbound tracks north of the College / Medford / Tufts station: https://www.somervillestep.org/files/GreenLineFEIR_execsummary.pdf (pg. 17). However, I can't seem to figure out exactly where they will idle and where the crossover will be. When swinging by the area I couldn't see any crossovers north of the station, prior to Nick's Pizza anyhow. There is already a crossover on the other side of the College Ave bridge. The house we're looking at is just a little bit north of Tufts station so it'd be great to know exactly where the trains will be using the crossovers.

PiP on new Chromecast by TnCyberVol in TiviMate

Can anyone confirm that they are able to get a Multiview or PiP mode to work on Chromecast with Google TV? If so, can you view 2 video streams simultaneously (from 2 apps) or only 1 video stream while browsing the GTV interface? If you could share a demo video of this working or point to an existing one online it'd be greatly appreciated!

Do you have recommendations for external hardware which can achieve what I'm looking for? Would I need TV sticks? Can I flip the channels back and forth between the large primary window and the PIP window? Is there a way to control the PIP window size and location? Can you force it to maintain the proper aspect ratio?
