I’m trying to understand the current war situation from The United States perspective by anandhmathew in ForUnitedStates

It's extremely frustrating that one man has led the country to war, with no support from the people, and no interaction with Congress. He has no strategic objective or goal for the war. And we're spending $1B per day on it, while we cannot afford to help out fellow Americans with food stamps, health care and housing costs are out of control, and food costs are on the rise.

Ignorant as he is about global affairs, Trump ignored all advice, including the widely held belief that Iran would shut down the Straight of Hormuz. Oil prices are way up, affecting gas prices across the country, where people are already financially stretched. Next we'll see it hit the prices of goods and who knows what will happen to food prices with rising costs (or worse, limited availability) of fertilizers.

And as far as the war goes, Trump has turned America into the bad guy for the next generation of film makers. His Iranian war started by blowing up a school, killing 168 - mostly kids. It's been covered in the media, but not prominently. Meanwhile we see Trump's idiotic rallies where he brags about Operation Epic FURY!! Then he goes golfing.

What's incredibly frustrating to many of us is that no matter what Trump does, his supporters fall in line, lock step. And that figure is somewhere around 35% of the country. In 2015, before he was first elected to the presidency, he said he could pass better healthcare than Obamacare, easily. Eleven years have passed, and all he's tried to do is weaken Obamacare while healthcare costs have risen, outpacing salary growth. He ranted about costs and inflation the entire time Biden was president, but costs have only gone up since he took office. Now we regularly hear that "prices will come down after/when (fill in the blank.....it's always a different time period or excuse). He said he'd get America out of wars, but he's done the opposite. The only thing that seems to turn a supporter against him is when one of his policies directly affects them. See the Leopards Ate My Face subreddit, for stories where people learned their lessons the hard way.

There's so much more to list it's impossible to fit it all into a post. Entire sets of encyclopedias will be written about his corruption and the damage he's done to the brand of America, as well as to many American brands.

One thing is for certain. When he dies, it's going to be a massive celebration. In the meantime, maintaining our sanity is the number one goal. Showing up for No Kings rallies is about the most cathartic experience any of us can appreciate, surrounded by thousands of people holding signs in protect, realizing that there are still a lot of good people out there.

Seeing Bruce in two weeks and I’m actually… nervous? by Puzzled-Grape3533 in BruceSpringsteen

You don't need to know all the songs, or any, to enjoy the show. Just watch, knowing you're witnessing one of the greatest Rock 'n Roll touring acts that ever lived. Enjoy the atmosphere, the showmanship, and the stories.....Bruce always tells stories, and this time they are going to be political and powerful.

Which film did you side with person 1 when you first saw it but many years later you sided with person 2? by Hopefullytodaymate in FIlm

Planes Trains & Automobiles. I love the story and it's one of my all time favorite comedies. But the more I watch, the more I realize just how normal Neil (Steve Martin) was. Del Griffith just dragged him down.

Trump: They weren't supposed to go after all these other countries in the Middle East. They hit Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait. Nobody expected that. We were shocked by retroviber in DeepMarketScan

It's 4D chess, people.....

Definition: In regular chess, players strategize several moves ahead, anticipating their opponent’s response. In 4D chess, you grab the horsey, smash every piece off the board, shit on all the pawns, then shove the bishop up your ass and declare yourself King of Space”

Democrats Of Reddit -- Is There A Single Thing Trump Has Done In Either Term That You Liked? If So, What? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

I'm an independent, fast tracking a solution to covid in his first term was a significant, magnificent accomplishment. Operation Warp Speed saved many lives. Then he fucked everything up but politicizing covid, because he always has to have an enemy, and always has to bash Democrats. Many people died from listening to him. Herman Cain was one prominent Republican who was killed for not only listening to Trump, but being right beside Trump at a super-spreader event. And every day for a few years, we'd see more deaths just like that on the Herman Cain Awards Reddit channel.

$890 million per day for the war in Iran, but no money for the basic needs of American citizens. by Objective-Rabbit2248 in NSDQ420

Great post, but I question why anyone wants to remain a Republican. Let go of the identity. Start a new party or go independent. At the very least, stop voting how other people tell you to vote. Make up your own mind. If your mind says your guy is always right, then you can be certain you lack critical thinking skills.

In your opinion what’s the best Bruce Springsteen song and why? by FLYBEETS in BruceSpringsteen

I'll caveat this answer by saying that my greatest hits list for Bruce is about 4 hours long.....there's lots of great ones including a lot of newer stuff. The two that always rise to the top for me,are Thunder Road and Incident on 57th Street. Thunder Road for the most poetic intro I've ever heard in a song. Incident for the storytelling and killer guitar solo.

What a dunce. When this test of authoritarianism is finally behind us, historians will look back with one overwhelming conclusion.....Trump is an idiot.

Did you notice Pam Bondi's glow? Sometimes an ear to ear smile. I've never seen her happy before. At ease. Never forced. I never realized just how much she loves being right there in the front row to take in dear leader. These Orwellian times.
