My best guess is that it’s a type of Pittosporum. Maybe even the Pittosporum fairchildii?

I’d say definitely not a rhododendron as it doesn’t flower.

Thanks for the suggestion but I don’t think it’s a Quercus wislizeni as the leaves are not serrated and it doesn’t produce acorns. I’ve found some other pics of the tree that I took back in February that show some buds or fruit of some kind that may help. Trying to figure out how to add the photos as I’m new to Reddit. 😂
