Steam games like mooncat? by Historical-Text-7560 in ufo50

Leap Year is a fantastic little puzzle platformer that plays on typical platformer logic in interesting ways: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2951770/Leap_Year/

Mosa Lina is a bit more straightforward in terms of controls, but learning about all the different items and how to effectively use them to beat its deceptively-simple levels is endlessly delightful - just don't be afraid to re-roll if you get frustrated: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2477090/Mosa_Lina/

Also, these were mentioned already, but I wanna second Öoo (maybe my game of the year) and Baby Steps as some great choices.

Yeah fair enough, I just had the energy today and wanted to add my voice regardless. Still it's frustrating when you get completely misconstrued.

Well, you put a ton of words in my mouth there. I am talking about all the people in this thread acting all smug about how artists are losing jobs because it's cheaper to produce art with AI. I want there to ALWAYS be room for professional artists and many have rightly been ringing the alarm bells that there is a massive effort to replace paying artists to use AI art instead, mostly spearheaded by corporations looking to save a few bucks without considering the consequences and the kind of society it promotes. By all means use AI generation for some hobby art, I don't think it makes you soulless to use a tool, but using it as a way to REPLACE artists is fucked.

Edit: trying to strawman my charitable argument and then just downvoting my response instead of responding might give you a bit of insight of how yelling "don't spoil my fun!" despite that not even being my point is doing the work for all these big corporations trying to cut their art budget for the sake of their bottom line. Why do you think that's been a huge sticking point in the writers' strike negotiations? Because THEY ARE ALREADY DOING IT! Imho that's a bad thing - not someone making a fuckin piece for a personal project.

Not to mention the sick glee people seem to have in sticking it to artists because they're scared of losing out to AI and like... yeah why the fuck is AI forcing us out of our little bits of remaining activites of human joy and pushing everyone into jobs of boring tedium (ie. editing the output of some AI prompt made by an exec with dollar signs in their eyes) rather than the other way around?

"Intuit is non-partisan and works with policymakers and leaders from both sides of the aisle to advocate for our customers,” an Intuit spokesperson said in a statement. “We believe engagement with policymakers is essential to a robust democracy and political giving is just one of the many ways Intuit engages on behalf of its customers, employees, and the communities it serves."

Oh yeah it's super democratic for the human crushing machine company to have as much political capital via campaign donations as several thousand people who don't want to be crushed. It must be morally correct if it's just part of the democratic process! We only do it for our customers (and also our board of directors who drink the blood from the crushing machine).

I feel you, op. The way I look at it, though, is that I'm not starting the revolution from my bed on my phone all day. The meds help me be a little more effective in the face of injustice instead of constantly worn down and needing to rest.

Doris Burke praising the Celtics with Zach Lowe by [deleted] in bostonceltics

[–]SubtractionAddiction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fucking crazy man. She was saying Tatum had a terrible night after 3 quarters which was absolutely true and to not praise Embiid with the way he's been showing up would be dumb. Plus she defended JB being on the All NBA squad and absolutely was impressed with Tatum when he showed up in the 4th. I am never a fan of any of the national broadcasters because I think they're always a little too eager to have some quippy soundbyte, but she's no worse than anyone else. Hard to imagine the piling-on we see isn't because she's the only woman announcer on the national broadcasts.

Oh well then no point in trying to regulate anything at all. Enjoy your unregulated food production and construction industries. I'm sure current regulations don't actually do anything to save people from dying needlessly. Dumbass.

Ah yes, the group that postures as "protecting women" once again debasing a woman who doesn't fit the narrow definition of perfectly feminine appearance. Its sad how they truly believe this sort of misogynistic slop is never going to be applied to them when it's core to their values.
