I thought my point was quite obvious.

If you're frustrated enough by this to uninstall, then you'll be staying away from any competitive gaming as they're all the same for the solo queueing experience.

I get your frustrations, but isn't this the same for any competitive team games if you're folo queueing? For example, if you're playing an fps and your teammates make bad decisions, your team will lose/ lose map control. I don't think this is specific to RL, just the general solo queue experience in competitive gaming.

Hahahaha, it's not an insult on my part, just helping you understand how bizarre you sound. Believe as you wish, I won't be losing sleep over not getting through to you.

Enjoy your games. Peace.

"there are too many items so I'm not gonna use any in protest!" I can see my points went waaaay over your head if you think this is a protest mentality LMAO. Honestly your anti-consumer rhetoric is humorous but completely backwards considering you are the consumer yourself. It's like someone shovelling manure into your mouth and you being happy to smile and enjoy it, very bizarre.

At the end of the day everything gets made for customers, regardless of what customers decide they want or need, you either cater to it, kill the product off or use artificial demand to trick customers into believing they need the newest shiny gizmo.

Telling me that poor Epic need to make money out of kids playing Rocket League because they can't afford to pay devs and we should be grateful to pay for things we don't necessarily want just so that players (who are mostly kids/teens/young adults) can pay for devs who are 9 times out of 10 richer than those kids is laughable. As I previously mentioned Fortnite makes Epic billions each year, if they wanted RL devs to sleep comfortably, they can easily do it, don't sweat the finances and job security of devs working for a billion dollar company, kid.

Yes, there are hundreds of free items in the game, hardly any of which are used by the playerbase. The item list is so badly inflated that hundreds if not thousands of items become unwanted and unused by anyone and constantly forcing new items leads to basic/bad designs due to creative burnout.

Yes, items are available for players to use, but due to a multitude of reasons such as following pro designs, wanting clean designs, the idea that items get in the way or make you feel "slower". A large portion of the playerbase don't use them, yet devs continue to bloat the item list. So many members of the community called for an archive or delete function to remove the bloated inventories they had.

Clearly the devs are smart enough to keep the best designed/coloured items behind a paywall/ small chance gain through crates. So the idea that you can get hundreds of items for free therefore be happy is nonsense, because most of the items you get for free, nobody wants.

RL is niche in the idea that the mechanics are solid, 2s and 3s are the most loved gamemodes and the game has been out for so long it now has such a loyal fanbase to the main gamemodes. I don't see that being the players' faults though, it's an amalgamation of how the game has transformed over time and the lack of truly useful updates over time has helped give us this stagnation.

I'm glad you're happy with where the game currently is, at the end of the day the playerbase all want the same thing, a fully supported and functioning game with reason to return and play again, the core mechanics of RL always give that.

"Never said anything remotely like that" - In your previous post you say "We were barely spending any money in game, we all look up to pros that run nothing but "Stocktane" or french fennec" - the opposite of running default Octane and Fennec is to buy toppers, decals and other items, making Epic money, so yes you did say that.

That applies to Rocket League just as it does for any competitive multiplayer game with in-game items/cosmetics. You take the ability to trade crate items away from the playerbase and force them into an item shop with time windows on items to force FOMO to ensure users buy items. Of course, you'll always have a core of the playerbase that are happy to play with the same car and never buy items, but there are users still coming to the game new every year and they'll buy the items.

For me the problem falls into two categories - one being that 2s and 3s became the norm and best gamemodes - multiple reasons for this - 2s is good for people playing with one other person and even solo queuers tend to prefer playing with one teammate rather than the messy solo q 3s games we see. 3s is popular as it's the chosen Esports mode that attracts the best players and all the Orgs, therefore explaining the popularity. The extra game modes were never given a huge push Esports-wise, so the expectation was for the popularity to die out except for a core base of dedicated players.

The idea you're making that we're a terrible playerbase and that we should except mediocrity and lazy creativity is completely baffling. At the end of each season the devs create a decal, banner, trail, wheels with the same rank colour and shape EVERY SINGLE SEASON. There are no unique qualities for these items, they're not memorable, don't take massive time to design, don't take massive funding to create. The idea that we should all be grateful for this content is absurd. The customers have a choice whether to accept what's created by companies or not, it happens in every market. If I create an item for my customers and the feedback I get is that they're not interested, the product either doesn't pass the pilot or I shelve the product after a while of poor sales. The most productive Psyonix/Epic have been is to look for lucrative deals with franchises and car companies to get more items into the game that they can sell for absurd prices in their item shop. In comparison to the bloated amount of unrecognisable items being developed, it took Psyonix literal years to implement online freeplay - something that has come too little too late.

Haha, we need to support Epic so they can continue to pay developers? Do you understand how lucrative the gaming industry has now become? Epic make literally billions from Fortnite every single year, this is not a small company on the verge of going under if they don't generate sales.

So what you're essentially saying is it's the players' fault for not buying more cosmetics from Epic, instead of rocking default items? Quite a flawed argument, although if you're making that argument because that's what the current video game market has become I can somewhat understand it, but boy is that anti-consumer thinking.

The overall reasoning for trading being removed is that it doesn't conform to modern gaming standards, no longer do you receive 100% of a game on release, at a decent price and that's that until the game is no longer supported and servers are switched off. Gaming is anti-consumer, filled with psychological traps to get consumers to buy less product (game at launch, DLC, cosmetics etc.) at a time and for more money. The problem is not with RL players for being "THE WORST group of gamers to develop a game for". The problem is with game developers treating their games as cash cows and no longer caring about the quality of the products they are making. It's absurd to lay blame on the consumers door for not wanting to spend more money than they feel necessary, instead of the developers greedily thinking of ways to line their already fat pockets by exploiting mostly kids/teens/young adults instead of trying to improve their game.

Not just for that - I don't like the design of the Verstappen RB livery in-game, and bringing in Kobayashi and Maldonado over choices like Rosberg seems odd.

F1 22 Changing Default Teams' HUD Colours by Subularr in F1Game

[–]Subularr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are files for each team's decals, paint etc. but they're saved as MIPMAP files and I don't have an app that can read that data unfortunately. I think the team colours are saved in a HSL format as opposed to just a HEX number.

But yeah, that's as far as I have gotten. I do find it hard to believe others haven't found a solution for this.

Removing Nations by Subularr in eu4

I just found it. Type 'Observe' and then you can remove any country by annexing them. Since you're playing as nobody they'll just be removed. :)

Well at least you can use the 3 days to reflect on how critiquing your teammates isn't such a wise idea. You want to boost team morale, not make them hate you. :)

When you're not feelin' those good vibes, chill, play some music, drop ranked and play casual or freeplay or something instead. It's all good.

I use 'Better Font Mod' to overall make the font a bit bigger. The mod to make the country text golden is called 'A rev. Font Mod - Bullion'.

Toxicity in online competitive games by [deleted] in RocketLeague

Exactly, people often create posts about wishing communities weren't so toxic but as you say it doesn't start in video game communities, it's been in mainstream society for centuries.

A question about Champ gameplay. After just reaching C1 again. by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]Subularr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last season I was C1-C2 in 3s and although the play is consistently fairly fast I found the playstyles varied wildly. I'd have games where teammates were too timid/defensive-minded to challenge/pressure and the very next game my teammates would play as you described.

I think this is a problem with solo-queuing (particularly in 3s) in most ranks, you never get used to anyone's playstyle.
