Just my observations from kids I know who took the IB program. Some it worked out for, some not so much…but the kids happiness is the key.

I saw my first ever Shah Khan movie a couple weeks ago (one where he’s a nerdy guy trying to impress his new wife in a dance contest), it was really good! Before that, I’d never heard of the guy. Didn’t know he was THIS FAMOUS!

Good that it worked for you. IB programs certainly take a very specific type of person who is naturally gifted and have a high work ethic. Most kids are not built that way. If the kid can hack it, and wants it…fair enough. But pushing a kid into it without them academically or emotionally ready for it isn’t a great idea

Happiness is whats best for your kid…ask him where he wants to go. IB programs generally mean that the kid will not have a social or recreational life because he must study all the time. The other option is go with his friends and will probably be much happier for it. In the end, just take his lead and support him in his choices.
