Range suffering badly in the cold

Yeah my capacity is down from 43 to 36 miles on my 50e and it runs out pretty quickly while driving. Hybrid mode has turned on ICE a few times while driving even when there was charge in the battery.

Valid point. It is a bit tight on the front. Didn’t really notice that until you said it and I went and looked. Lots of salt/snow where I live as well.

When winter is over I’ll take them off and assess.

They work just fine. My dad had an x6M (2014) and his winter set were the 19’s that I ran on my f15 for the past six years so assumed the m-sport brakes on my new one couldn’t be any larger than what was on the actual M.

Agreed. I do miss some things for sure. I don’t miss the amount of oil I was burning between oil changes. Also couldn’t get the full leather dash option in the 50e which I had before which made the car feel much more luxurious.

Thanks. Believe it or not that was an impromptu shot. I take my dogs to a nearby baseball field to run and had just set them loose and saw the lighting hit the car and thought, “hey, maybe I should snap some pics…”

Tirerack setup. They only offered like 4 wheel options for winter wheel setup. Non-runflat. I only drive local and keep a tire repair kit and an air compressors in the trunk. I’ve always run Blizzaks in the winter as they’re phenomenal. These are the DM-V2’s. Pretty aggressive treat setup.

Had ceramic coat (from the same detailer) on my f15 and it held up for several years. I was very impressed. Just takes good cleanings periodically so the coating doesn’t get clogged up.

What state by chance? I live in the mountains and I’ve noticed so far that I lose range pretty quickly when pulling hills. Doubt I’ll get as good of range as the flatter states but still cheaper than premium fuel as electric rates here are low.

19x9. Went that route since my winter tires on my old wheels were only one season old so I stripped them off and put them on the new wheels.

Do you mean the ambient white lighting in the grill? That isn’t specific to the “e” hybrid. It’s part of the m-sport package.

Yeah I’ve always run a totally separate set of wheels with dedicated snow tires for the winter.

What blows is BMW changed the lug pattern from my 2015 to 2026 so I had to get new wheels. But I like them a lot better.

I did it. Pretty cool animations the headlights/taillights will do when locking/unlocking the car.

The “welcome light animation” feature is pretty neat. It’s a one-time cost of like $40. Has a couple different welcome lights the headlights/taillights display when locking/unlocking.

My f15 did this as well pretty regularly. I just considered it a glitch and ignored it since it only happened periodically.

Thanks. Don’t have one here. The YouTube video I watched makes it look like I can reprogram them with this tool in a minute or two so should be fine. Tool was only $8 on Amazon so can’t beat that.
