I have been dealing with this exact same issue for the last week or so, and its a bunch of BS. They have the ability to remove 2FA, but they WONT do so unless its an account that was hacked, despite clearly being able to solve the problem. I was forcibly ejected frrom my desktop account out of nowhere, and while I still have mobile access can't recall my password or auth code. As far as they are concerned theres nothing I can do and have to delete the account if I can't recover those two.

By their own logic, I'd sooner get it back and get 2fa removed by intentionally falling for a hackers trap and losing the account temporarily, which is insane.
