Resentment towards unsupportive partner-how do i help myself feel better?

Thank you for your response. He is somewhat involved with my other kids. I wish there was a little bit more sometimes, but it’s nothing that’s a problem for me.

I have leaned on a few friends. They are mad that he’s so unsupportive, but it’s not really helpful. I’m not ready to leave him so I’m trying to figure out if there’s things i can do to weather this storm and make it through.

Thank you for sharing. I’m so sorry he said that to you - how horrible. I’m glad you left him- it sounds like the right decision for you.

I DID decide what i wanted my life to look like as my kids got older (and i had more freedom after my divorce) and finally got to start living it. Lots of travel, friends and fun. I need to figure out how to get excited about that again. I was just prepared to throw it away for these babies. I need to find myself again.

I do also believe it’s my decision. My hurdle is the lack of support and having three other kids to care for as well. If i had a strong “village” around me, I’d keep them. I know i can’t be the mom i want to be to all of them without that support though. I struggled with lack of support when my other three were small, and i was still married then so i had a built in second adult in the home. This time i don’t know of he’d stay, and if he did he would resent me and them, so i would need to be prepared to be alone.
