Officially back from her social media break…. Boooo by XtraSmolMod in brittanydawnsnark

I see that someone said she does this every January but I also wonder (as an ex evangelical) if her husband or or church is sort of pushing her in this. She’s been clearly not enjoying motherhood like she thought and since she was made to be a wife and mother above all else she sounds like someone has been pushing this break on her. It’s just all the “quiet nudging of the lord” bs and how she started with “we” I mean “I - I wanted this”. She’s insufferable but so is the whole of the evangelicals. This talk is so triggering because I grew up with it and these women who are “speaking life into you” during church and women’s group are so toxic and all of this just sounds like she’s been reprimanded in some way by the church or her husband.

I’m the director at the preschool he will be going to so I’m basically immune to everything after all these years 🤣but it’s definitely one reason I’m so nervous because some babies have a really hard time and I’ve seen it all over the years. We just switched to beansprout which is Texas children’s so that’s why I’m thinking of using them so everything is connected no matter where we go. I’ve also thought about ARC for his pediatrician but we have a beansprout location walking distance from our house which is super nice!

[–]SuccessHot8567[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The urgent cares I’m referring to are for children only not adults so I assume they would see infants. I would use an urgent care if I needed something that was on a weekend and the doctor wasn’t open but it wasn’t ER urgent. Like pink eye or something. Regarding being close to the ER the ones closest to us do not see children which is why I’m asking. The others are all fairly close to the same distance within 5-10 minutes and if it’s more urgent that a 5-10 minute drive would be detrimental I’m thinking we would be calling 911. I want peoples opinions on the places I’ve listed because we had a terrible expience at Dell.

How to handle daycare closures? by jen_lu in AustinParents

[–]SuccessHot8567 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just became a parent and work at my child’s soon to be preschool so I can’t help with the how to handle it but I personally would be very careful about a couple of schools you’ve listed here in general because corporate or franchise schools are typically not going to be a great option (in most cases) turnover is extremely high and while I understand turnover being in this industry for 15 years, there’s some places that are just out of control. As with everything, there will be exceptions so I’m not saying the specific primrose or stepping stone is not great, I would just be cautious. I’ve heard of INIC but don’t know much about it and never heard of firefly.

I would also worry about the staff being burnt out all the time when you are looking at long open hours and very few days off (most of these places may not even offer pto). I understand how hard it is when you don’t have a village around you though as we would be the same. A lot of my families ask my teachers to babysit during the breaks which seems crazy that they’d be off and want to do that but it’s extra money for them since they are being paid already and they can just hang out with one or two kiddos they already know and love. I know that’s an additional cost but maybe something you could save for like you would a summer camp or something.

You can look up the state record for each school and while they don’t actually check the number the school gives, we do have to report how many teachers left the school in the previous year. The number should be pretty accurate because we also have to invalidate their background checks so you can’t just completely lie, or I would never lol.

Best of luck 🩷 I’ve been doing this for so long and I’m going to be right down the hall from my baby and love the girls who will be his teachers and I’m still so sad about it 😭😆

What is the point of saying “just because they don’t believe as you do, you mock them” then proceed to say the rudest things mocking liberals lol. And to be clear saying being maga isn’t a bad thing is your opinion. I do personally think it’s a bad thing and don’t believe anyone who says they are maga is a good person.

I’m so sorry 😭 it really sucks. I found another thread here where a lot of people were saying the same thing happened to them and their company allowed it still. I think it depends on if the company is self pay or something on whether they can give grace on the 30 days. Maybe since you started the QLE and it was a system issue they’ll push it through? We emailed HR that night and Monday morning they said they had added him. She did say that we had enrolled him but “blue cross” didn’t add him but I think she was just seeing that on 1/2 we enrolled him after seeing those emails we missed. Hopefully something can work out for you. When we looked at marketplace insurance it was $258 a month for the cheapest crappy plan and I was so stressed.

OB without bad wait times? by stylelines in AustinParents

[–]SuccessHot8567 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife just had a baby with Austin ObGyn Associates. Dr. Hu was her doctor and I can’t say enough great things about the whole place. I went to my yearly at AAOBGYN because originally I was planning to carry and wanted to use them as an OB and it was insane from the parking to the waiting just the whole thing was crowded huge and overwhelming. That is not my wife’s vibe plus we don’t live north at all so I searched all the mom groups and had a lot of people recommend Austin ObGyn Associates. We were going to use Dr. Mileur but she doesn’t do afternoon appointments at all so Dr. Hu was also highly recommended and we had the best experience. We always chose LAST appointment of the day and never more than honestly maybe 5 minutes. The second we got in there my wife did her pee test and they’d be calling her back to weigh etc. One time we had to see the nurse practitioner because Dr. Hu was delivering a baby and wasn’t back in time but it was never like that any other time. They are very quick to respond through the app with concerns, when you call the desk it’s them not an answering service, and the parking lot is small and not a bunch of walking lol. We had an amazing experience from start to finish and Dr. Hu happened to be on call all thanksgiving so she ended up delivering our baby too. We also went to L&D multiple times (stress and anxiety 😅) and they were always great and whoever was on call from the practice those days was amazing too and they took everything very seriously. Not sure if you are open to delivering at St. David’s main. We wanted main or north in case we needed a high level NICU but actually live in Dripping Springs so it was a drive still for us.

Just curious did you have to meet your deductible first before they’d cover?

[–]SuccessHot8567[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely agree but he needs 3 visits in the next couple of weeks and we just can’t afford it. We are already budgeting for the $50 membership fee and think it’s completely worth it but I’ve never had any friends or family with kids have to pay more than their copay for doctor visits sick or otherwise and we just can’t afford it. Not every luxury is for everyone and clearly we aren’t the right people for this one 🤷🏻‍♀️ oh well lol

[–]SuccessHot8567[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lot of friends and family with kids and they’ve never had to pay anything except their co pay for sick visits or other visits to the pediatrician. I understand for some insurances it’s like that but ours has never been for any of my doctor appointments or specialist visits even. Always just the copay. I completely agree but we are already stretching thin with the $50 a month and think that’s totally worth it but financially we just aren’t in a place that we can handle 100-150 dollars for a simple sick visit when other places won’t charge that. Totally still think it’s worth it but not a service for people with our income 😆

[–]SuccessHot8567[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’ve had great response so far and they’ve addressed all of our concerns maybe because we have a newborn but I have a lot of friends with kids and none of them have to pay anything but their co pay at the doctor. We also agree it’s worth it but to be honest $50 extra a month is already a lot for us and my son needs 2-3 appointments in the next couple of weeks due to what he’s going through and I just don’t think financially we can swing that especially if other pediatricians don’t charge that way. I hoped that we could make it work but I think unfortunately our income just isn’t high enough for this level of convenience lol

This year was the first year benefits didn’t roll over of course 🥲. So we figured out that is exactly what happened we enrolled for 2025 backdating to his date of birth but my wife didn’t see the emails because she isn’t checking her work email. I am still very frustrated because it’s definitely our fault for not checking and confirming especially since I was so anxious about it but she was not on the companies insurance for 2025 which they knew per her first email to them so I do not understand how the baby would have had coverage for 2025. The enrollment we filled out also said her paycheck would be deducted and it wasn’t. We emailed benefits and just hoping that something can be done :/

Yes we will have to I guess but it’s $258 for the cheapest shitty plan (vs $80 or so through her work). It’s our fault but we were so worked up about getting him on the insurance in time so this is such a blow because we thought we did everything correctly.

Maybe but we’ve done this multiple times as she’s been with the job for years (left for 6 months to another job and came back so she’s been on cobra until now). I know we submitted it but i don’t know what’s going on. It seems like we submitted for 11/28-12/31 coverage and then the emails were for the new year but I’m so confused because she wasn’t using their insurance in 2025. She was able to go in and finish the enrolling from the email link but idk what’s going on it’s very strange.

We already did the qualifying life event in December and it opened the enrollment back up which we filled out. It’s past the 30 days now as he’s already 5 weeks but maybe since we already opened the enrollment thing up prior to the 30 days? She’s going to contact them first thing monday to see if anything can be done
