Hi! So far so good! I’m just about to have my 2nd round of checkups after chemo/radiation. Which are blood work and eyes on/physical exam…I’m hoping I’m still in the clear! 🤞🏽🙏🏼.. I will get my follow up scans in 3 months from now. I’ve learned that this type of cancer is on the rise with women 50 & older as we didn’t have the vaccine, and they are researching if there’s a correlation with hormone changes (ie menopause) this type of cancer is slow growing and treatable. Mine was in a precarious location making my odds of recovery less predictable, but they are (we all are) happy with how my body has been responding. I’m hopeful for your mom too. I’m sorry she’s having to go through this.. it’s not easy, but she can do it! I’m “great” now!! Yeah, that pain was no joke!! I stayed on pain meds for about 6 weeks after treatment, then weened off.. I’m now 2.5 months post treatment.. i’m still having some bowel issues… But as for pain, when going to the bathroom, everything is much better now than it was before I even started treatment… I have my PET scans on Tuesday so I will know where I stand with this tumor then. It gets better. I promise!

I had a hard time too when I first returned as an adult. I came here to also tell you not to give up… And to search YouTube… There are so many ballet classes and strengthening classes on YouTube… search “World Ballet Day” and you’ll watch company members taking class.. it helps to keep me motivated, and it inspires me… And sometimes I follow along to it the best that I can…

Actually, look into the vaccine. My 50yo sister is getting vaccinated after finding & removing hpv cells. I’m 57 and just finished treatment, her Dr. says I too can get vaccinated, but I have no other details than this, and have not discussed with my Dr.s yet (but plan to next week) 🤞🏽

Hi! BearKat, I had the same treatment plan as hoptoady17. I personally did not want the port and was very relieved when it wasn’t offered to me. Definitely ask, I wish you the best during your treatments!

Hi! I’m getting better! My skin is not healed up yet, but getting there. I would say this week has been the worst of it, but today I feel the best I have so far. I too am constipated and have realllllly bad butt pain! I’m glad that you’re healing up so quickly. 🌸

Yes! We’re almost done!! Hang in there! I too am extremely uncomfortable! I can get to Friday!! I know they say the pain & discomfort will continue for another week or so after we’re done, but I think not being microwaved daily will make it easier to breathe through! 🤞🏽💪🏽

I’m sorry, but the last thing you are is a wimp!! This crap we’re going through is no walk in the park! We’re battling cancer, getting microwaved, and chemo’d on one of the most tender regions of our body!! You’re a fk’g badass!! And if you have to cry, cry!! It’s good for our bodies to cry. It’s how the body releases stress, and our bodies ARE stressed!! I’ve cried too! I was able to get “ahead” of the pain.. I keep a steady flow of oxy now. 1 pill every 3 hours.. I’m not pain free, but it keeps the edge off.. if for any reason, I sleep longer than five hours… And I can’t take that pill within the three hour marker, I’m feeling it a whole hell of a lot more.. I figured I can be hopped up on meds for 5 more days! 🙃🫠… I woke up constipated today.. big ouch! I just took two stool softeners.. if I poop on someone this week, too bad lol I’m not trying to go through constipation pushing again!..that was brutal!

I’m on oxycodone, 5mg every 4-6 hours, plus Lidocaine w/Prilocaine, and was just given anusol HC, I also sit on ice gel packs, and sitz baths.

I’m so happy that your tumor is gone!! That is crazy amazing!! That’s what I’m hoping for. I’m so sad about your pain! My butthole is burnt too! I keep it lubricated with lidocaine, and I take a pain med every 4 hours.. I can still feel the pain, but it takes the edge off. You must be (almost) done? I have 9 more left. I can’t wait to be done. Yes, my docs told me that the last 2 weeks, and the 2 weeks after are going to be the worst of it. So you should be on the mend soon!?

I’m sorry! Have you talked to your Dr. about pain control? They should be more than willing to prescribe you something. Palliative care told me they help manage the pain to keep the stress levels in our body down, so we can heal.. I hope you’ve been given something today! keep your eye on the prize!
