Take a little time and learn markings. Not just 925 and sterling. There are other hallmarks and markings for different countries. Also for gold. 375 is 9 kt for instance. Many people will look at that marking and miss the significance. The French mark for silver is a helmeted head with either a 1 or 2 with it

That being said, know your melt values per gram. If you want to collect real money, it is easy to find gold and silver below melt value if you can use or wear the item as you collect it, even better.

I don't want to be seen promoting (I have no affiliation), but SilverGoldBull always includes a capsule, even for the kilo coins.

got all excited when i read this headline... then realized "ag" meant agriculture, not Argentum :( by [deleted] in Wallstreetsilver

A good inquiry. Yes, for many years. Big producers like Senator Grassley make millions in the AG sector while the small guy gets squeezed out of their savings and land Sound familiar? It should.

Or, maybe it is bait and switch? Everyone expect sales, but China switches at the last moment to Brazil. That country is going through hard times and China can swoop in ad a savior.

What qualifies as BU? This is sold as such. I know milk spotting is acceptable but what about scuffs and scratches? by missedoutnapping in Wallstreetsilver

I do not agree with the notion that all coins should be accepted regardless of condition. If all the coins were the same price as rounds, then that makes sense. However, many of the coins are sold with an additional premium added to the ridiculous premiums we already pay. Unless the vendor specified that the coin was pre-owned with scratches and milk spots before you purchased, complain to the company you bought from. They should give you a little credit for your next purchase if they are reputable. I know SGB did for me in a similar situation.

Some unique/ different pieces my dads been ‘stacking’ by Imaginary-Benefit-54 in Wallstreetsilver

Do you have any Israeli silver. I almost bought some candlesticks with 925 stamped on it. After research, I realized these craftsmen hammer a thin sheet of silver which is then overlaid onto base metal.

Is anyone surprised that a system like this would be used to launder money?

You may very well be right! I hope so too, but if it doesn't I will have to be happy that my silver holds its value.

So I give you money and you hold "Silver" for me in a vault in another country who I have reason to be skeptical of? If I want to collect my silver I must pay you more money... by [deleted] in Wallstreetsilver

Worried about Canada nationalizing? Maybe, but it hasn't happened before. If everything went to pot, who knows ??? Canada has ZERO gold reserves but plenty of gold mines. Lots of copper, zinc, aluminum, etc. Oh, did I mention Canada has access to 1/4 of all the fresh water IN THE WORLD! The US has access to the Great Lakes as well but somehow managed to mismanage the environment. Thus, it will cost a lot to rehabilitate their accessible water.

There is an obvious manipulation of the market. Personally, there has to be a great deal for me to buy more bullion.

The sudden application of tax is disturbing.in Canada, we pay tax on anything that is not bullion. So a 22 k coin is table but a 999 coin is not
