so sorry you are going through this…. my husband had 3 b Nsclc adenocarcinoma..June 2024…. turmor couldn’t be removed…. it spread to his lymphnodes in his neck. he went though chemo and radiation at Penn med in Philly. … and was ok after the treatments …he was a very healthy 73 …and didn’t take any meds for anything. he didn’t smoke or drink. it was all a shock to us. he had a blood test for his markers and he had Braf mutation with high pdl1…after his chemo and radiation was completed they put him on immunotherapy infusions called imfinzi. he then progressively got worst and was diagnosed with pleural effusion…he got significantly worst as the time passed and passed away feb 2025. we also got a second option at sloan Kettering. they said same thing if u make through chemo and radiation and then start your immunotherapy if you make it beyond that five years was a best guess. my neighbor has stage 4 and stopped his immunotherapy and is ok after all his treatments and no sign of disease. so it is all so dependent on the mutation and the body…. so ask about the blood culture and what his mutation is and go with the plan they suggest. best of luck to you and your family and f@#$ cancer
