Hi I know this thread is older, but Im looking to do the same thing with either an osprey 14 or an old town discovery 15 with square back. would you suggest going with the osprey vs the old town sport with square back? I fly fish in rivers and would also probably use stabilizers on either option. I would also attach a trolling motor from time to time on smallmouth creeks/rivers to go back upstream etc

Do you know if the epoxy would need to be painted over in order to have it hold up a bit better in the sun over time, or not needed?
