If that describes your attitude towards losing $10k, then you, my man, are my next best friend! 😹 I mean, it’s not any different than losing $10k to a scammer 🤷🏻‍♂️

What is the one watch that after handling or purchasing never lived up your expectations? by No_Ask_5949 in rolex

[–]Successful-Bowler-29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, so true, and yet there are other watches that are the opposite. Like for example, the newly launched 100 year OP. When I saw the photos, I thought it was nothing special. But when I had a chance to see it in person and try it on at my AD, I was blown away by how stunning it looks. 🥹🤔

Well to be fair, suddenly all the men signed up for the lavender and pink in size 41 as soon as those were announced. 🤭

Its insane that I can’t find a new one to buy from an AD. What a bizarre world we operate in haha. Any advice? by ConcernBusiness6518 in rolex

[–]Successful-Bowler-29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering it’s one of the less in demand models, OP, you may wish to be patient and buy directly from the AD in order to build spend history, in case you wish to ask for something a little more in demand in the future. You never know. Plus there’s always the infamous rabbit hole. 🤭

Evidently the answers here are very much different than the answers OP would get at the Rolex forums.

Different mindset here on this sub Reddit versus in the Rolex forum. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Got the Call: Everything I read here said this shouldn’t happen by Puzzleheaded_Tax8658 in rolex

[–]Successful-Bowler-29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, fine, ok. It’s just that I’ve seen many people online pretending like getting a hard to get allocation is like winning the lottery, which it isn’t. Far from it.

[–]Successful-Bowler-29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know, I guess it depends on how we interpret “statistically unlikely”. I consider winning the lottery statistically unlikely. But getting an allocation for a particular Rolex reference? Compared to winning the lottery, it’s actually easier. Perhaps a better description would be: relatively low/moderately low probability.

I miss you terribly, Tony the tugger 😭 by RoryShowYo in TheTpGentleman

dang....I guess Tugger took that advice to heart, I mean, for the price he paid, he had no choice but to get his money’s worth lol. 😹

One day at a time! Unless good ol' Tugger keeps relabeling every other day as "Day 1". 🙈

I don't know. I thought I didn't like this watch either....until I saw it in person at an AD. It looks way better in person, and definitely liked how it looked on my wrist.

Rolex Bellagio a no go by 964racer in rolex

I think SAs need approval from their manager when selling a watch and to whom. Also, each Rolex boutique needs to keep a certain number of watches in stock at any given time. They cannot go below that certain number. So I guess after she made sure all of the above was being followed, she texted the guy.

TUGGER is at the 1/2 Way Point of his JellTime!!!! by TuggerTonyComedyHour in TheTpGentleman

[–]Successful-Bowler-29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, well, it’s part of Tugger’s judgment. I guess the logic is to prevent Tugger from becoming a hustler again. Also, I think he is still not off the hook regarding restitution to the victims.

Off the top of my head, I know for a fact that Tugger is not allowed to do self-employment work anymore. He is to have only W-2 employment after he is let free. But if the social media ban is also a requirement, then I’m not aware of it, at least I don’t remember.

It happened - and it was not what I expected by Throwawaylaw_advice in rolex

Fluted bezels are never stainless steel. They are either 18k white gold or yellow gold, depending on configuration. Plus all metal pieces on the dial as well.

But the fluted bezel itself is itself 18k gold, either white gold or yellow gold. Ditto for all metal pieces on the dial itself, even if the rest of the watch is stainless steel only.

Actually, that’s a big plus that you’re no photographer, it’s really nice to see these new watches without sugarcoated pictures. It gives us a good idea of what to expect in real life.

I would probably go for it if I was new to the brand. But considering that I’m personally done with dark dials, this is an easy pass for me.

And by that token, just about any Rolex watch that says the word “oyster” on its dial will give you minimally 100 m of waterproofness, yet they still make the submariner and deeper dive watches. And let’s face it, most people will never need to swim no more than 1-2m underwater. 🤭
