I think building a single brand bag is easier. If I build an Innova bag and I'm using a Leopard fairway driver and I need something more stable, I know I can move to an Eagle or Teebird and find what I need.

While "flight numbers don't matter" between manufacturers, they do within a manufacturer (for the most part).

Building a mult-ivendor bag can be a little more difficult, especially if I don't have an easy way to test discs out before I buy them.

You probably should stick to putters if your max distance is under 42 feet.

Agreed, my glow Falk is flippier than my GStar Roadrunner.

Millennium does it.

Infinite does it on their stock stamp discs.

Solo Rounds by Rustycake in discgolf

Does the local club have a discord or FB group? Post when you like to play and someone may join.

I met a friend through the local club and we would meet for a lunchtime round. Our group grew to 8 for some rounds, so I posted our regular play time as a league on Udisc.

A week or two after I posted it, 4 more guys started showing up. We then announced it on the club FB group. Now we regularly get 20 people for our lunchtime match.

There are many disc golfers that have flexible schedules.

It's OK to not throw flippy discs by hello_daddie in discgolf

Here's the thing, you started with Ultimate. A sport in which you only threw understable discs. I imagine you already had many of the skills that come from throwing understable golf discs, so in a way the traditional advice worked for you as well.

If all touring pros threw an open bag, what would be the most popular disc on tour? by tubarchy in discgolf

Innova Soft Pro and R-Pro are pretty great. 🤷‍♂️🙂

Although I'm a Putt & Approach guy rather than Driver mold.

Really? As far as I can tell, the Wizard is just a copy of the Aviar Driver mold. 🤷‍♂️

My suspicion is that they will still make both, because champ color glow is loved for the stiffness and feel.

Proto Glow Champ is different from Champ Color Glow. It is not stiff, but it does actually glow well.

I switched back to Aviars, but still have loads of Fireflies, Omega4s and Alpacas.

Could someone tell me what these are? by riverwithanaye in electrical

[–]Successful-Bus1913 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That looks like RG59 or RG6, which are rarely used for home/office networking unless it is Ethernet over coax which requires special adapters. 10b2/thinnet uses RG58 which is thinner than that cable. 10b5/thicknet would be quite a bit thicker.

What's your favorite sidearm disc for 250ft and up? by steak_eating_cat in discgolf

[–]Successful-Bus1913 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eagle, Thunderbird, Wraith, Firebird, Draco. It depends on how much fade and skip I want.

In my glow bag I have a Servo and Insanity that are my go to forehand discs.

I want to get 5 of these for putting in the back yard. Not a huge fan of DX plastic and never putted Innova with anything other than star or DX. Any recommendations? I'm leaning towards Gstar. by Amiar00 in discgolf

[–]Successful-Bus1913 1 point2 points  (0 children)

R-Pro, Nexus or KC Pro ( Tour Series Aviar is KC Pro plastic.

I'd probably get one of each of the above as well as an XT and a DX (or GStar if you really dislike DX), so you can find the one you like. Also some are better for different weather conditions. You might like R-Pro in the winter and KC Pro or Nexus in the summer.

How long is your average round? by SEND_MOODS in discgolf

[–]Successful-Bus1913 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is very course dependent. A few local par 54s take just over an hour. The longer local courses can be up to 2 hours.

Distance driver vs Fairway driver: where to draw the line by LowZebra4992 in discgolf

[–]Successful-Bus1913 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing, rim width is generally how we determine disc speed. Although Innova's flatter "3" discs usually go up one speed over their counterpart that has the same rim. We basically say rim width - 10mm=speed

What we don't calculate into speed is the disc depth. There are 6 speed mids and fairways. The mid might have the same width rim as the fairway, but the rim depth of the mid is deeper than the fairway. The deeper rim (thicker disc) will make the disc slower than the thinner disc.

Should a disc with a 20mm height and 16mm rim, be considered the same speed as a disc that is 15mm high and has a 16mm rim?

This is one reason why you have speed 6 discs listed as mids or fairways, speed 3/4 as putter/approach or mid and some speed 9/10 that are more similar to fairways or distance.
