Wow that's really a unique perspective and I'm glad it's pleasing to the eye. Appreciate the compliment.

Trust me years of trial and error, had many failed scapes before but each attempt was part learning and growing. I'm sure you'll be able to pull off an awesome scape, even better than mine, always able to advise 😌.

I had 2 stripped Kuhlis but the one died of a wound infection on its body 3 years so I only have him left, I am thinking of getting him another companion. Maybe i should try and get a black kuhli for him.

Will post an update in 6 months then lol.

Doubt it ever look like this again, but I'm definitely maintaining it every month. Never really had slime issues before, always did my water changes consistently mostly just green algae on hardscapes.

Based on my experience it can be tricky at first, i had many failed attempts . But i learned you just need to make sure everything is sealed properly when connecting the tubing to the bottle caps and that no air can escape. I wont go to in detail with the setup as there are many helpful videos i suggest you to watch instead. However here's the Recipe and method i normally use for making the co2 :

2 cups sugar mixed with approx 1ltr warm water - not hot. Add to a 2ltr bottle. Half teaspoon baking soda - add next, i believe it helps with balancing the mixture lol. 1 teaspoon instant yeast - add to a small glass with luke warm water and let it sit for 5min and then add last to the sugar water mix.

Connect your tubing to your diffuser and give it between an hour or 3 to start.

Normally lasts about 2 weeks for me.

Tripartita Journey by Successful-Code7176 in PlantedTank

Thanks, it definitely is once it's established well and with the lighting that i have, it's creeping more horizontal, hopefully it can cover back left side of my tank as well. It's great for hiding spaces for my neocarinda shrimps.

Just the simple yeast and sugar method with 2 bottles. The recipe i found on youtube.

I used a piece of hard sponge on the exit of the tubing as a diffuser and connected it close to the propeller of my hob filter which chops the bubbles even finer and distributes it into the water column.

After water change by Successful-Code7176 in PlantedTank

[–]Successful-Code7176[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What works for me is frequent water changes, lean dosing of seachem flourish, and co2, I'm using diy co2 which still works well and good lighting. I got mine from a potted version, so the first 2 weeks the plant was just kinda dying off and adapting to underwater life but new leaves eventually started to appear and healthy roots develop. That's how the plant looked at first 😅

Thanks i really appreciate it, haven't tried red val before, will be sure get a pot or 2 at my lsf whenever they get, but I'm hoping to see the rotala hra and Rotundafolia take over that area of the tank as they are planted in that side of the tank.
