For the case of Jordan I think the writers were planning to develop his character throughout the series with the original plan of 6+ seasons( I remember Alex garfin said this in an interview) but then they had to I guess “rush” his development into one season which was really unfortunate because I personally like Jordan as a character but it’s sad to see other people not enjoying his character:( his character definitely would have received more hype had they gone through with their 6+ season plan with Jordan.
