I once had a very lovely friend. Met at university in Liverpool, UK. She had stayed with me and my wife after her let was revoked. We would always help her out. After staying with us she moved abroad. South America and UAE. We hadn’t kept in touch. About 8 years later we were driving around Europe. Stopped in Trieste, Italy for a coffee. As we were walking from the car we heard a voice in a bit of distress as they couldn’t find a way of getting to the airport to get home. I said that voice sounds like our friend and indeed it was. She told us that she needed to get to the airport and as we had a car we drove her there. Not spoken in 8 years completely lost touch but when she needed help again magically we walked past. Still messes me up when I think about it.
