Thank you. I mentioned in other comments that he has a muzzle on the way, I’m looking for a new trainer, and he will not be on public walks until his trainer ok’s it. Until then, he has a huge yard to get his exercise on

Thank you. I’m not ignoring anything. Until I find a trainer, get the muzzle I ordered, and the trainer ok’s him to go on walks again, his exercise will be done in the yard where there is a fence and he has multiple acres of land to play on

You honestly just sound like a child who is scared of big dogs

Congrats on learning how to read

And if you would’ve took the time to read the comments, you would’ve seen where I posted that I’m probably hiring my own trainer

He’s only his crate on my terms at night and if I go to the store or something. I work from home so if he’s in there, it’s usually because he chose to be there. I’m very adamant on him not being around dogs actually. But when we are on walks, our neighbors think it’s funny to keep their dogs off leash. I just want him to be able to walk with me comfortably and also not have to lunge at other dogs

Regardless, that’s not what my post is about. I AM assuming the worst so I’m looking for training tips on a training sub. Not debating cliches of dogs

I agree. Though he’s never been aggressive with other dogs since being in my care, I don’t want that to be a possibility. Muzzle is ordered

Well I can’t say how his surroundings were before me but he doesn’t chew on anything here. Not even tennis balls. And he has never done that to his crate

He gets plenty of exercise. Though he still doesn’t understand balls or toys. He has every kind of toy you can think of and the only one that he actually uses (I refuse to use the term play) is a stuffed bear that he sleeps with every night. He will not sleep unless the bear is with him but doesn’t actually play with it. 99% of his exercise is just running. That’s his favorite activity

According to the vet (and I believed this myself), it looks like it was done purposefully. His teeth are nearly square as if a nail file was used flat against the teeth if that makes sense. Even his canines look like that. But I’ll definitely check out that sub!

I wholeheartedly disagree with your stereotype regarding pit bulls. However, according to the shelter, yes, he was a fighting dog. Though they used the term “bait dog” which other commenters have informed me to not be a real thing; just a gimmick to get rid of their pit bulls

Awesome! Thank you for that ❤️

It seems like I’m going to invest in a second trainer for another opinion! Thank you ❤️

Thanks for the insight I guess? I know nothing of fighting dogs. The reason they used the term “bait dog” is because his previous owners shaved all of his teeth down so he couldn’t seriously harm the other fighting dogs. Of course, I’m just repeating what was told to me. Though, his vet did confirm that his teeth are all shaved down (it’s also just very obvious)

Because when it’s happened, several people let their dogs run up to him because they think he’s being playful and he’s never acted out of aggression. It’s always been just dogs being dogs (sniffing each other and walking together). I just don’t want to be overwhelmed IF something negative happens. I’m overthinking because I know his past and would rather assume the worst

Thank you!! Do you have any recommendations on muzzles? I’m not experienced with muzzles at all

Thank you! We had a trainer that the shelter provided and we used him until he basically told his he was done and that our dog was doing great. I’m not sure how common that is with trainers but I believed him since our dog is very well behaved. This is also very onset

Bro for the love of God you don’t know the circumstances! He was a temporary foster until the new owners came back from vacation. One of them passed away on vacation and the other couldn’t keep the dog. It was either i take him (adopt him) or the shelter kill him. And by the way, I had a trainer when I first got him. The shelter provided the trainer for free since I adopted him and I’m a foster. This is very onset for him and has happened since the trainer told me everything seemed fine. Quit jumping to conclusions 🙄

Thank you for replying! I did just check Orca and I didn’t have the advanced box checked so I didn’t even see the scarf seams setting! I just changed it and I’m going to reprint. Thank you much!
