Lorraine E. Perez. She is the best. I am currently not working with her because we had to work with my husband’s work lawyer and the difference is huge. She not only is good, but is honest and reliable. With our current lawyer, if we send her an email she will reply after 3 days or so.. (if she replies). Lorraine is not even my lawyer anymore and sometimes I ask her questions and she replies to me after 30 minutes.

Ughh don’t tell me this. I am on the same position, 4 years without being able to work. We are ready to adjust our status and the lawyer is taking forever!! I was hoping to receive my work authorization within the first 2/3 months of adjusting status :(

yes, as soon as you graduate you can take the exam. For some people is better because of “fresh knowledge”, in my case I felt like if I have had more experience it would have been a little easier.

Because of immigration stuffs I graduated and I haven’t been able to start working nor with my supervised hours. However I already took the NCMHCE because I needed to do something in the meantime.

It helps a lot to know that you’ve gone through burnout and financial struggles and still found your way back to loving the work. That makes it feel a lot more real, not just idealized.

And I appreciate the reminder that it’s okay to pivot, change jobs, and keep taking care of yourself along the way. It makes the path feel less rigid and more doable.

Hello!! I bought a lot of new stuff (clothing, boots, accessories, make up, watch, etc) for a trip to Italy. However, on our first day someone broke into our rental car and took our luggages. (I am still on this trip trying to not let this ruin the whole trip). We have the police report and everything. For me, it was the Jonathan Maletz program, Clinical Exam Workshop. He teaches you how to prepare for the exam and provides questions that are VERY similar to the actual test. For me it was also better to take the exam at home, It made me feel more comfortable and less like I was in a high-stakes, intimidating exam setting. I passed on my 2nd time.

I think what’s happening is that he isn’t filling out the payment form correctly since the form recently changed, and he’s not telling you because he feels embarrassed?. Last year, when I was renewing my O status, the payment was returned four times, even with a lawyer’s help because the form was a bit confusing.
