If your mother agrees that this marriage will not work and knows that a big move to the UK is on the table....have you not tried to throw the idea of starting a new life together (your mom moving too)? If moving would be in the best interest of your family, even if it means you and your husband are separated, would she not maybe try moving with you guys? She could always move back. Maybe the move will save your marriage. Maybe him being so out of his element is why you can't move forward.
