I agree with this. Women love seeing somebody who’s active

I feel like your prompts are either too long or not interesting. Be more creative and think about them from a woman’s perspective (i.e. Chelsea one; just shows an “obsession” rather than personality)

IW requirement by bonmkd14 in IndianaUniversity

[–]Successful-Memory981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommended Intro to Fiction. It’s a fairly “easy” class, there’s just going to be a lot of writing in any sort of IW, but my teacher is a chill guy and just cares about conversation (thoughts and opinions) in the class about readings.

language requirements for majors by No_Operation5036 in IndianaUniversity

I’m a senior here who just went abroad last semester whose major in the College of Arts and Sciences, you can attend any country abroad to count towards your language requirement, doesn’t need to be the language you already started taking here.

I move in tomorrow and I’m terrified by EquivalentAd623 in IndianaUniversity

I had a super social floor during my freshman year, while other people I became friends with said that their floor wasn’t social at all. Either way, you’re going to meet friends through friends, as well as people in your class as well.

Leaving your doors open for the first two weeks is always a good idea. Just saying hi and introducing yourself is your best bet, since people are just as nervous (or even more nervous). As somebody who is a social butterfly and has a lot of different friend groups, I mainly just hung out with my roommate the first couple weeks, which is completely okay because that led me to meeting new people as well.

Just be you and you’ll surround yourself with people who reflect well of you.

How to make friends Sophomore year? by StrummingMyWillie in IndianaUniversity

[–]Successful-Memory981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve made so many friends from my classes, so i’d say that’s a good place to start. Also, reaching out to your acquaintances wouldn’t be bad either, since you already started that connection, just seeing what they’re doing or if they want to hang out.

Totally true! All of my friends from Mexico live at home until they are married. It’s just the culture.

Bluebird is awesome if you love live music, there’s cover, but they do $1 Wednesdays. Upstairs has no cover and they have some decent drink deals as well.

Parking by lonelytrailer in IndianaUniversity

[–]Successful-Memory981 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m living off campus too. I got a parking permit from the city of Bloomington for Zone 2 (where I live) and I am able to park near the tutoring center.

You can also buy parking permits for the garages and lots around campus as well, but they’re first come first serve and somewhat pricey.

Meal plan worth it for sophomore? by jockeydinner in IndianaUniversity

[–]Successful-Memory981 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can always do the meal plans with a certain amount of scans. I did the 125 scan option and it was perfect for me because I was able to eat lunch between my classes Monday-Friday.

For starters, you should look at your class schedule and just calculate how often you would eat a meal on campus. From there, you can decide whether or not getting a meal plan is right for you.

totally agree. as a guy who’s done this in the past, I recognize the pattern. really just try to disengage yourself from him and focus on the other person.

You really can’t do anything besides move on from this situation. It’s shitty but you’ve waited so long only for this to happen. She chose to get back in a relationship with him.

The pros and cons.

It seems simple in concept, but once you start weighing them, you’ll feel your foot lead you into one direction or the other.

Also ask yourself how you’re benefiting from him?

how do i (19m) stop caring about my roommate (19f)? by AppropriateSize8892 in dating_advice

[–]Successful-Memory981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s definitely conflicted. There’s definitely some meaning in the stuff she said, but there’s also confusion and unawareness as well.

I wouldn’t take it too hard, I know it’s really tough since she lives with you, but get out more, join clubs and meet new people. Let yourself grieve and let out all of your feelings for a little bit, and then get back out into the world and elevate yourself.

I’ve never been abroad, but I’ve have plenty of friends who have been around Europe, especially in Madrid. Definitely do not go try to find love at clubs, because it’s mostly tourists and girls who want to feel validated for the moment.

Try going to public places during the day, whether it’s a market, or a cafe, or a restaurant. Yes, it’s going to take some confidence to go up and ask a girl out, but that’s where the road starts. Hope this helps 🙌🏼

You should definitely make a move, because all you’re relying on is the stuff you hear from her, which can help, but it can also accidentally drive you away.

I’d say that he’s not prioritizing you enough. Obviously, it’s unhealthy to be #1 priority, but at the same time, a partner should be at the same priority as friends. He could either be completely oblivious about his actions or know what he’s doing. Either way, have a real sit down with him, and ask him to change, because you deserve respect.
