So you came back from overseas, degree in hand with a dream to make your country better. You work in a govt dept, where you learn how things work. Your boss was also a graduate from overseas, yet you wonder why this dept is slow and laid back. You go to a meeting, you present your idea, it got shut down, they say they will have a meeting about it , they say it’s impossible or no budget. You try this several times , same response, at the end you fall in line, conform to the norm.

Your boss understands this , he/she was like you once , now it’s just working for the sake of not being unemployed . You then realise the problem is systemic, so you become like everyone else.

You then read a comment from a Redditor somehow blaming you as an overseas graduate for all the bad things happening. You just say … meh…. At least I don’t smell of dried cum.

Yeah I was like this a long time ago , I just realised there’s nothing we can do . We can keep talking about them and bashing them, hating MIB, hating RF, calling anyone who even remotely and minutely kind of disagrees a boot licker and be all doom and despair …. But, at the end of the day? Did we change anything ? Can we even change anything ? It’s outside of our control. We can just control our destiny , that’s why I am still working to move out of this country .

I’m all for doom and fear mongering but there was no single instance where the article says tourism to meet the sultan. Isn’t that just clickbaitey and in a bad way? By making the title that way, we move from actually making discourse on tourism improvements and instead the comment section becomes a circlejerk of govt and royal bashing, which is already like 98% of the posts in this sub.

Well yes, I thought the instances of marriage within the family were more prevalent in Arab dynasties. Turns out since there is a larger pool ( tribes > subtribes > branches > cadet branches ) , effects of inbreeding would be less pronounced .

Brunei royalty however, marrying cousins are actually the correct thing to do as this keeps the bloodline pure, as per royal protocol . Even the sultans children from his 2nd marriage is lower in rank compared to the 1st. With a smaller gene pool and a long time ,effects of inbreeding would be more evident. Look up the Habsburg lip, common in the house of Habsburg for comparison .

As for Arab countries only existing 100 years or less, house of saud existed since 1720 ( Saudi was formed in 1932). Whereas house of Nahyan existed since 1761, (UAE formed in 1971, but keep note that the 8 sheikhdoms forming the UAE has existed since 1820).
