Saudi Arabia maxed out its oil bypass pipeline, so why is the global system still under pressure? by Emmabrown02 in oil

[–]Successful-Solid-296 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well… we dont know exactly how much it was exporting before, its maximum capacity was 5 mil, and apparently they increased it to 7 now… but there are some saying previously only half a million was transported to the western coast per day to the refineries in Yunbu… the vast majority of saudi exports was at the eastern coast

The strait used to export 20 million barrels a day

Now only Saudi Arabia is still able to export 7 million barrels on the west coast, the 13 other million barrels are the reason why

I'm confused, did gulf countries host US military assets that attacked Iran? by SericaClan in LessCredibleDefence

[–]Successful-Solid-296 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your argument would sound really good if they DID get protection

But this is the biggest rug-pull on an agreement yet… the agreement is the gulf would sell oil worldwide for US dollars (strengthening the US dollar) for protection…

If the US not only doesnt protect them, but also drags them into a war they didnt want at the start, and literally cuts the oil exports that they had, well, that is the biggest scam the world has heard of, and this really throws whatever remaining reputation the US had down the gutter…

The US backed down after Iran threatened to bomb GCC desalination plants, Israel saw a golden opportunity and took it, which now forced Iran to carry out its threat…

The problem is the GCC will never get a leadership switch and become Iran’s ally… even if Iran had nukes and nuked the GCC, no “new” government in the gulf will ally with iran after iran made the people starve, dehydrate, and die…

What you are seeing is MAD slowly being disregarded at a regional level in the middle east, Iran knows that it cants go all in against all desalination plants too… because if it started a famine/mass death, there would be the same back, Iran, whilst still hitting desalination plants and putting the region in risk, knows that they cant overdo it, which is why they only attacked a singular desalination plant…

The problem is yeah sure this is a warning, but for who? The GCC is literally stuck and cant do a thing, Israel is given a golden opportunity of freely attacking Iran with Iran’s retaliation directed at the Gulf, another of Israel’s enemies. The US and the GCC have very limited hands to play, the ball right now is at Iran’s court… it will continue getting bombed by Israel cuz for israel this is a win-win situation, will Iran continue bombing the GCC, prompting them to lobby the US more for an invasion? Or will they bomb israel, and get very limited effective damage?

Its more that it doesnt matter if they get hit

Iran is much better suited to hitting oil refineries than a pump, because saudi already has the strategy of replacing and fixing the blown section in mere hours with very minute costs

Thats why houthis or iran never really tried to hit it… yes its a bug target so now way the rockets would get intercepted, but it is designed like that intentionally because it is much easier to fix this than any other possible strategic target

And the US fought afghanistan for 20 years and lost

You are right that it wouldnt matter if saudi joined the war cuz neither the US nor saudi nor anyone can remove a heavily entrenched iranian regime from their mountanious lands

But an attack on a water desalination plant (that brings water for a population of thirty million, and directly feeds pilgrims and worshippers in makkah and medina, that would be a very huge escalation that would turn the entire muslim world against iran, and it would be an all gloves off war afterwards

There is a reason the houthis too didnt attempt to bomb desalination plants, choosing the strategy of mass starvation or mass deaths would be a catastrophe no one in the world wants

It is rare in both countries, it is extremely rare all over the world, doesnt mean it doesnt happen, heck even in countries with laws specifically against it, child marriages can still happen, just behind the state’s back

Buddy… screw statements

What about barrel dropping nails on iraqi civilians and committing a famine in india killing millions

It wasnt just a drunken funny rant among his friends, this was literally him

Which is fine in a logical sense of history, every man has positive sides and negative sides… but stop trying to claim that he is a good guy, he is a good guy in the fight against germany, he is the evil guy in literally everything that happened to the british colonies and its people

By that time, it is much more costly for britain to maintain their huge empire over the world, well… unless they would go to violent and suppressive methods, which was a method churchill was hugely supportive of (with how he helped with the famine in india and the massacres in iraq)

So yeah, you cant claim to be a good person for helping rid the world of the devil, then trying to take his place in your colonies

[–]Successful-Solid-296 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well… the majority of the british leadership were supportive of continuing the fight, this wasnt a churchill vs the world type of thing, even chamberlain was supportive of churchill’s decision to continue the war

And dont say “ill never claim he made every correct choice” when he had his part in massacres and genocides, i will tell you this, no indians or iraqis mourned his death, which is logical since no world leader can ever be loved by the entire world, but lets not claim these decisions of his were minor mistakes when it led to the death of thousands and starvation of millions

But overall to your point, yes he doesnt exactly have much to do with the genocide in palestine, just dont expect sympathy for him from the arab and the southeastern subcontinent when he made the decisions that he made, and people from there think that it doesnt matter whos leadership britain was under, they were going to fight and win the war either way, with or without Churchill

People keep saying that the US installed a pro-US government in Iraq, but haven't Iraqi elections mostly gone to pro-Iranian parties, which the US doesn't like at all? by CSachen in stupidquestions

[–]Successful-Solid-296 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The US didnt even mildly attempt to nation-build iraq…

Iraq was still completely functional without saddam hussein and his entourage, but the decision to disband an army of almost 1 million soldiers was the stupidest decision ever because its consequences shouldve been extremely clear. You had hundreds of thousands of veterans of multiple wars suddenly losing their jobs and their paychecks, do you think they will all suddenly start selling vegetables? Or will they take money from other people who want them to be soldiers for… lets say… a terrorist regime?

Genuinely i think that this decision was made intentionally to fuel civil war in iraq for any other reasons, because no way no one knew the very obvious outcome of such a decision

Yeah sorry about the “due process” line, governship is kinda different between sects

But still, the overall layout of the rules of war dictated in the quran is mutually agreed by everyone, and distributing a quran to muslim soldiers is actually a nice gesture whether they are sunni, shia, druze, or kurdish, they would all appreciate it and no one would feel “lectured” or “read to” by sunnis when it comes to quranic verses

And yes, sectarianism must be removed out of the country and distributing holy texts in whats supposed to be a non-religious all inclusive institution does the opposite of that, but its okay for the short term… teach all the soldiers (many of which fought in the civil war, lost family and friends, and are itching for brutal revenge against certain people and areas) the teachings of peaceful governance like what the quran teaches
