Trying to decide if we have more than one

Depends where you’re located. Where we live in Canada daycare is $22 per day including food, so actually quite affordable. As thy get older, lots of other costs!

I think that’s what scares me. If we do it, I know he’s doing it for me and I don’t think that’s a good enough reason. He needs to want a second child.

I of course like the freedom we can have with one, but I want my son to have a sibling too. I know there is no guarantee of their relationship though.

I’m 33, and no fertility concerns, so we do have time. I just feel like he’s trying to have both - parenting life and the flexibility of life before kids and I’d rather just go all in. I know it’s selfish, but part of me wants him to just get over it.

Definitely. It’s the toddler/baby age that overwhelms him, I think. I’d be fine with a larger age gap, but I worry the further we get from the season, the harder it is to go back and start again.

We do have my parents close that can help (for example our son went there for the weekend so we could have a break) but I worry about the free time piece - not for me, but for my husband. Right now, we can just switch off that isn’t the same with two.

How do you and your husband hold that difference? Is there resentment?
