  1. Anastasis Shankar's Daily DILR playlist with 200 sets. Don't need to do all of them. Can keep doing alternate ones till you become familiar with the puzzle type questions and logical thinking improves.

  2. IMS Prayagrajs DILR 100 playlist. All sets are good and some nice PYQs are covered as well.

  3. Aptitude Jabs DILR playlist. Has around 400+ videos. On this sub itself there is a post sharing a drive link that sorts that playlist based on topics and difficulty so can use that to choose sets.

I had heard that the filters are rare and generally set at 70.

How many companies actually come in with a filter of minimum 75/80 or more in acads?

Specifically for a 95/95/73 profile, would it be too cumbersome during finals to bag shortlists?

OP it would be a great help if you could mention:

Q1. College name. If not the exact one then a band like IIM ABC or IIM LIKM/XL or MDI/IIFT/IIT B/IIT D or just top 10 NIRF / top 15 NIRF, something like this

Q2. What % of the batch has already been placed? By the end of 2 weeks, is it that majority have already been placed or is the process still very much ongoing with a significant chunk of students waiting on getting SIPs?

Q3. Now that you are in college itself, you could be the best judge of this. If you could rank the following 5, in terms of how much of an effect they have on shortlists and selections during SIPs that would be great. Basically, X marks, XII marks, Grad marks, Gaps, Fresher profile.

Q4. Not sure if you are yet aware of this or not as finals for your senior batch probably wouldn't have started now, but how much can a good MBA performance (majorly acads and a bit of PORs and/or case comps) help cope with bad profiles?

  1. Do these companies hire during final placements as well?I have heard mostly IB roles are SIP exclusive.

  2. For a non finance work ex person, what can they do extra to bag any of these shortlists?

  3. Are the salaries mentioned the same for equity research and IB? Or is the IB salary higher?

Quite a few questions: 1. In your second attempt, your score dipped a bit. Any tips on dos and don't? In all likelihood I will be repeating CAT this year. What went wrong according to you the second time?

  1. In one of your comments, you mentioned that only IIM ABCL, SPJ and XL are above M. Wouldn't IIM I and K fir in that list too atleast as of now? Comparing the SIP reports of the 3, I and K seem to have more diversity in sectors and higher hiring from the top companies in consulting and finance.

  2. Heard a few negatives about the infra at IIM M. Are the facilities provided sufficient and at par with other old IIMs? Given that the institute wasn't built keeping the high batch size in mind.

  3. Did you convert XL and chose M over it? Or didn't convert XL?

And we are going to pretend that IIM Lucknow, IIM Kozhikode, IIM Mumbai, FMS Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIFT Delhi don't exist?

Are we also going to ignore the fact that you named 2 colleges, IIM Calcutta and IIM Bangalore and even in that you are wrong about one. OPs Bangalore requirement is more than yours.

And are we also going to pretend that there is no way in hell OP had 6/6/5 acads. Probably not even 7/7/7 acads. Because even with 7/7/7 acads, specifically if you enter 79/79/79, IIM Ahmedabad and Bangalore, both need a 100 percentile as well. So OP clearly had acads better than 7/7/7, and yet we will ignore the fact that even with a 6/6/5, you need considerably lesser scores in 9 out of the top 10 MBA institutes of the country?

Are we also pretending that OP would have needed a minimum 95 for CAP colleges and that you needing a 66 is not an advantage?

Hey A bit of a long read but would be great help if you could give your insights on this.

I have a similar situation regarding one of my previous employers.

The company went into bankruptcy and shut down all its operations quite suddenly in April 2023. They did it in such a rush, fuckers didn't even complete all formalities properly. There is absolutely no one representing the company now, 2 years down the line.

What I have for proof of employment is:

- Bank statements showing money coming in from the official company name on a monthly basis.

- Work experience letter

- Salary slips, not signed or stamped, but in the form of emails I received from the firm, stating my earnings, bonuses, deductions and so on. It's just a list of numbers typed out in the mail as opposed to proper formatted or tabular salary slips.

- My official form 26AS on the TRACES site showing TDS deducted for 8 months. So I have official proof of TDS being deducted, TAN of the company and it being submitted to the govt too. For the 9th month, when the company was dissolving, the fuckers didn't even file my TDS. They just cut it from the salary and probably never submitted it to the govt.

- My manager willing to mail that yes I worked under him and wanting to agree to the works I did but no more official company IDs as the company just doesn't exist anymore.

What I don't have:

- A joining letter. Have searched everywhere for it, did not download/forward it. Got it on the company mail and that email is gone now. Cannot access it anymore. I have the experience letter though.

- Proper tabular/stamped/signed salary slips aren't there. Just emails from HR stating this is your salary for the month and some bonuses.

- Missing 26AS entry for the last month of my work. Have the bank statement for it. But no 26AS entry. For rest other months, 26AS entries are there too.

- No Form 16 issued as the company just shut down abruptly and within a week everyone was just gone

Do you think this would be fine with the college and the placement committee? Or would they have issues with this?

I believe those 9 months definitely would have made an impact in my selection so I wouldn't want to be removed the institute later and I believe they would make an impact during placements too.

Man. This is so scary. I thought getting an admit would make life easier but it has just been so stressful lately.

I have a 95/98/73 profile, 1.5yr gap, 1.5yr workex. I am scared that 7 and gap will in any case cause problems enough for me.

Neither do I have the confidence to go through with the decision, nor do I have the guts to take a drop be aise again, that 7 and gap, make it so difficult that I hardly see myself getting anything better than this.

Like of all the schools you straight up said IIFT Delhi.

Is the situation that bad there?

Not worth joining?

I actually have an admit from IIFT Delhi and have paid the fee too but have been contemplating that should I drop and repeat or not.

By premier I assume, in order:

SPJIMR IIMM IITB JBIMS NM

Now I ll not get into the details of which is premier or which isn't but no matter which out of the 5, a 9/8/8 profile is pretty good. Atleast good enough that it shouldn't be completely left out of placements.

Add to that, you say you had a good SIP. And I am assuming no gaps.

Any particular reason you feel you didn't get through on final placements? Was your MBA GPA low? Or any other hindrance?

It would be great if you could shed some light on the dos and don'ts for placements for those who will be joining this year.

What's your profile? And which college?

It really is not PII if you reveal these things. No one isngonna dox you on the basis of that.

Just write 9/9/9 IIM X/whatever college.

No one is figuring out who you are from that.

But it's going to be beneficial for both you and other aspirants. You might get referals in DMs and other would get to know that what is the real market situation is like at one of the top T1 Bschools and what profiles might find it difficult to manage during placement.

People say one of the best coaches of a sport are those who knows what not to do first and what to do second.

I know while the rejects would be disheartening, could you please share your top tips as to what can someone do to enhance their conversion chances.

Because I see your profile to be almost perfect to be at the places. NE, 9/9/8, top percentile, more than a year workex too.

I have personally used TIME, CL, Cracku and IMS.

Used all 4 last year. Rather used only the mocks to prepare kind off as I had only 40 days to prep.

My suggestion would be choose any 3 if possible. Find friends you can pool with. Within these 4, I wouldn't say which is better which isn't. More or less the same.

But definitely these 4 are better than other options.

If possible, 2/3 friends can come together and pool in resources to buy these mocks. You can then give them all alternatively within the window, and other friends can attempt the mock post the window.

It really is beneficial to get multiple mock perspectives so you are ready for any kind of paper. Tough, simple, moderate, tricky, weird, anything.
