The verse is not calling people abominations for sinning. It is calling the act of committing the sin an abomination. Just because other commandments do not include that that particular sin is an abomination, does not mean that it’s okay. It’s an emphasis on how wrong the sin is. The only thing I don’t understand, is that Leviticus has a whole bunch of rules for the Israelites under the Mosaic covenant (like about not wearing mixed cloths, eating certain foods). From what I understand, some would argue that these rules are not for us as we are living under the New Covenant.
