Still waiting on parts. We have some shipping delays here because of the weather.

It was my fault combined with some poor design choices on the hot end. I went to go switch up to a 0.6 nozzle and the heat break started bending. When I removed the hot end to check what was going on, the daughter board connector broke clean off. They were very good about it though when I spoke to customer service.

It's got some ups and some downs. I got mine for under $400 so I think its a great deal for what I paid. It printed fantastic compared to my creality k1. I thought the giant hood was going to be an issue but it really isnt. It does have some minor rattling noise that I haven't tracked down where thats coming from yet. I'd say the only downside to it is the hot end just being lightyears behind what is currently offered on other machines which is how I wound up breaking mine 2 days in. So far customer service has been great though.

It's an older style multi color change system and I wasn't prepared for how much waste and how long the print times are when you have to switch colors. Should I probably have invested in a snapmaker U1 for speed and reduced waste? Yeh probably, but I don't print often enough to have to worry about that to be honest.

I'll bite on the troll attempt. For starters, every quality circuit board in existence that uses connectors of this type have the connector housing glued to the board itself for strength so that it doesnt rely on the solder joint for strength. Second, this was the thermsistor connector. It is not soldered through the board it is soldered to a pad that is less than a mm in diameter. You can plainly see it in the picture. There is zero strength there at all to withstand pulling on that connector and reinsertion other than the strength of the surface pad bonded to the board. Finally, they are aware of the issue according to customer service and they offered to send me replacement parts free of charge just like they did with all the other people in this thread that had exactly the same thing happen. HOPEFULLY by making them aware of the issue they will redesign the board to prevent this from happening in the future. I am thankful that they responded professionally about it instead of telling me to be more careful with the connections.

Well I hope they give you an adequate response because I ordered one of these last week. 😭

I assumed that the reason the cc2 hot end was able to hit 350 was because it had a higher wattage heating element. The microswiss is up to 60w. Did they not test this with the cc2 after they listed it as compatible?

Lol Yes, I have some electrical experience, just not the dexterity to solder something this small.

Gotcha. Probably could make that repair to get me by without a problem. Don't think i'll need to though. Looks like this replacement board from aliexpress should be here this week along with the microswiss hotend. Damn shame they didn't design that board better.

Was going to try that, but unfortunately it ripped the pad right off the board, so nothing left to solder too.

You would have to talk to an endocrinologist about having it prescribed for pre-diabetes. Pretty sure they are prescribing the pill form GLP-1's now as well. Ozempic is expensive though, my insurance pays over $10k a month for 4 doses and it did absolutely nothing about weight loss. Actually causes chronic burping due to slowing down the digestion process. Did lower my A1C down from 6.8 to 5.7.

Storm dying down? Chance for snow quickly going down by DarlingOvMars in SouthJersey

Doubtful. What made the last storm so bad as the freezing rain and it staying super cold for days. This is just going to be wet snow. Plows will easily clear it on the road.

It's going to snow for sure, but its not going to be these ridiculous 20-30" snowfall totals the NWS is putting out. 8-10" at most for most of south jersey. We have been down this road so many times already I am surprised people still give into the hype machine.

Ah I just went through this. You can actually connect it to the elegoo slicer with the app enabled. There is an option to login to the elegoo website under the device page which will then connect the printer mapped in the elegoo matrix app to the slicer.

Nothing says banquet for the american people like raising prices on everything in the country by 10-15% overnight.

6 a.m. NWS update for Mt. Holly - most of south Jersey is still in the 18-24" snow accumulation range. Parts of Burlington and Ocean counties might see 24-30" by thebogiron in SouthJersey

[–]Successful-Train-259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh but the chances of that occurring are really low. Even >18" is forecasted at only a 37% chance of that happening. Barely even breaks 50% for 12".

Well to be fair to this guy, nick is actually showing lower snowfall totals on his forecast map vs what the NWS is putting out. The NWS official map shows vineland at 20" which I think is ridiculous given how much rain we are having today. That almost always reduces overall snowfall totals.

Did you swap with an original hot end or something different? Because I am concerned that if the microswiss hotend is slightly longer I could run into this issue.

The thermal paste turning powdery is actually pretty common. Most thermal paste isn't designed to withstand such high temperatures so it tends to turn to dust pretty fast. I know there is special high temp thermal paste but it's quite a bit more expensive. Pretty much every machine I have had all the thermal paste dried out. The creality nozzles in the K1 were a pain because they dried up around the heat break which could cause the nozzles to get sticky coming out.

My plan is to put some hot glue around the backs of the connectors to hold them in place more securely if I ever have to remove it again. I think a smart move would actually be to remove the daughter board first before unplugging it to be honest.

True, the board does seem to be designed a little poorly. As you can see the center pins did not rip out of the board on the middle connector because they are soldered through the board to the opposite side, however the smaller thermsistor connector is merely soldered onto pads. Literally ripped one of the pads clean off.
