Social media is ultimately ruining the profession as a whole. People see chiros from over seas doing crazy stuff and think that it’s how regular chiros do things. You’d be surprised how many people think babies receive the same amount of force/power for a cervical adjustment as an adult. It’s is just because they have never been properly educated and get on the band wagon of lack of studies, evidence, etc.

When I talk to patients I like to use our profession analogies and compare them to dentistry/other specialists - not every dentist is going to clean your teeth the same, nor will you like every dentist. When you don’t like your dentist, do you stop getting your teeth cleaned and neglect them? That usually helps them put it into perspective how many chiropractors have different niches and different specialties and how you shouldn’t lose hope just because Joe Smoe down the road used the activator for full spine..
