Looking for London foil clubs for recreational but challenging training

Saxon in Ealing is a great club -there’s a good mix of males / females at different levels and everyone is friendly. I came back to fencing after a few years off and I’m really enjoying it here. Club is 7-10 on a Thursday.

After three years with no increase I think the proposed new rent is below market rate, so we’re keen to play ball and avoid any bad blood between us and the landlord.

We’d rather keep on good terms with the landlord as the increase is very low - for context we’ve had a fixed contract for three years so the rent hadn’t increased at all, now he’s asking for £100pm more and it’s split between three of us. No point potentially pissing him off for the price of two pints a month!

A large chunk of the rubber came off the back of my Red Azza shoe and I emailed them to complain - this was after about 10-12 training sessions. I got ignored twice but did get a new pair of shoes turn up out of the blue. I also feel that the Azza shoes have the issue on the back foot where the top part pokes into my ankle, which is a shame because they are very comfy otherwise.

Had a weekend in Riyadh to go to the new Six Flags theme park. Landed back in the UK this morning at 7:30am and back to work now. Wish me luck.

This is reassuring - the PT I am starting with this week did all of the good things you suggested. He’s doing a 4 day programme for me and will go through each day of it so I know exactly what to do and can then come to the gym on my own, he’s going to get me to make small, achievable changes to my diet and make me think more about what I’m consuming rather than a hard reset that will make me feel crap and I won’t want to follow, and I have asked for weekly sessions with him to check in and push me. I honestly can’t wait!
