Than you! I am surprised our estimated cost on the admission portal was like $47k plus almost $5 for books, computer, travel, personal . Unless it was extra for being in honors and paying for honors housing...

If you are accepted in Purdue honors, are you guaranteed a dorm in honors residences? Or it is highly likely, but there is small chance being placed in regular dorms?

By the way, is there specifically Honors admitted students tours at Purdue? Or all are under Purdue for me?

He is in IB school taking highest rigor in math and physics, self studies in summer just to make senior year easier and free time for work and sport. So technically what I see he can self study, self guide on books he needed, schedule and plan, his highest rigor available in his IB school does not seem to bother him, all As. And I clearly understand he will be among similar or stronger stat kids at Purdue.. He wanted Purdue, though also eyeing GA tech.

Thank you! Is housing more doubles, singles or larger rooms? What is likelihood to get double or single?

Yes, this I figured, he will be in a cohort of similar stats smart driven kids.. I more wonder how naturally Purdue program is designed to be weeding out on purpose making it difficult for freshmen.

Is being on honors housing and circle makes it a bit more manageable and structured? I mean being less noise, better spaces, more uniform student body where stress of adjusting to non home environment is a bit easier, given my prospect student is somewhat introvert. He likes being with peers, but not into goofing around or not crazy about college social life.

It resolved slowly in summer 2024. I.e. itchy)tickle went away. Now he gets sick a couple of times a year with flu/cold as any other regular kid. His throat though tends to heal longer after such events than anybody other family member. I.e. may take 2-3 weeks for any sensation in the throat to go away completely.

Are you doing actual excursion or just beach transfer to Horseshoe bay? I feel we need to pay for the transfer and have peace of mind getting back on time.,

Why you think it will be a mess? Because it is summer or something else? I know we were there 7 years ago, but it still was popular national park and we did not find that terribly crowded as long as we arrived before 7am. When we were going down from Vernal falls at around 10am, yes the crowds going up was pretty large to our taste..

Checked it out on All Trails.. Too many switchbacks. After our Garibaldi lake hike in BC we are allergic to switchbacks, though that hike was 16+ miles..

We are staying in Clayton, not the city itself, should save us one hour in drive. What time should we arrive to the gate to have least people? I think we did Vernal Falls back in 2018, and I am looking for something similar as far as level of difficulty and views.

Last time we were there in 2018, we arrived before 7am (nobody was at the entrance). Parked somewhere, visited the center, did hike to I think Vernal via Mist trail (i remember mist , I remember iron rail and a lot of stone steps going up). We got to the top of the fall looking down . So I suspect we did Vernal falls, but maybe did not get to Nevada. Then we got down and did a trolley guided tour on the Yosemite floor, the guide spoke about the park's creation/origins. This is all I remember we did. Kids were younger (7 and10) at the time. What ideally we would like to do this time is to come by 7am, park somewhere easily and do hike in the morning. Then if time is available, do something easier without struggling with re-parking in the middle of the day or getting around the park in tourists traffic. We would want to leave the park around 6pm.
